Stella R. Tamblin, 88, of Richville, died, April 28, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her daughters. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 10th , 1 – 3PM, at the United Church of Richville, a memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM, Pastor Karen Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville. Stella is survived by daughters, Rebecca A. and husband Jay Gibson, Harrisville, Deborah L. Ashley and companion David Cole, Gouverneur, a son, Robert H. and wife, Laurie Tamblin Jr., Kent, Washington, a brother, Nelson Macrie, Trenton, NJ. , a sister, Eileen Newell, Mosheim, TN, grandchildren, Angela Tamblin, Justin and his wife Sally Tamblin, Christina and husband Tim Smith, Matthew and his wife Lindsay Gibson, Dustin Gibson and fiancée Tama Moore, great grandchildren, Seth M. Gibson, Liam N. Gibson, Elsie R. Gibson, Ayva L. Gibson, Alyssa L. Smith, Andrew N. Smith, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Macrie, and sisters, Pauline Ketts, and Doris Lenord. She was born February 22, 1924 in Hammonton, New Jersey, the daughter of Dominick and Grace Parker Macrie. Stella married Robert H. Tamblin on November 11, 1949 in Great Bend, New York; he died on October 25, 2003. She was a cook for St. Lawrence University from January 1969 – August 1986 when she retired. Stella was a member of the Gouverneur, DeKalb Hermon, Edwards, and Canton Senior Citizens Clubs, the United Church of Richville; she was the historian and a past president of the Richville Historical Association, a 32 year member of the Richville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and on the Richville Library Board. She loved to travel, play bingo, attend dinners, eat out, she was an avid reader, and was known for her apple cake and other desserts. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Richville Free Library, 87 Main St., Richville, NY 13681, or Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Donald L. Garvey, 75, DeKalb Junction, died, April 20th, 2012, at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Calling hours will be Monday, April 23rd, 12 -2 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM, Lay Speaker John Frary officiating, burial will be in Hermon Cemetery. Donald is survived by his daughters, Sharon and Jim Garvey-Mosher, Jacksonville, NC, Kimberly and John Beebe, Hammond, grandchildren, LCPL Donald L. Cunningham, Jacksonville, NC, Roxanne Cunningham, Black River, Vaughn and Craig Kerr, Gouverneur, Desiree’ Wilmarth, Alexandria Bay, Benjamin Beebe, Hammond, Alice Beebe, Hammond, Jessica and Paul Pagan, Hammond, great grandchildren, Anthony Allen, Marissa Lynn Kerr, Alexis Nichole Kerr and Marri Jane Merrihew. Donald was born February 22, 1937, in Gouverneur, the son of Harold and Vaughn A. Johnson Garvey. He was in the Army from 1954 – 1962 and earned the National Defense Service Medal. He married Margaret Beebe on October 19, 1997 in DeKalb Junction, Justice of Peace, Mary Cook officiating. Donald was a member of AMVETS Post 11, DeKalb Junction. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing, watching television, and listening to country music.

Melissa A. Jandreau, “Missy”, 36, of Hermon, died, April 14, 2012, at her home, Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction entrusted with arrangements. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 17th, 2 -4 PM. The funeral service will be private. Missy is survived by her, fiancé, Bradley Franklin, parents, Holland and Julie Rubado, Hermon, Gerald and Kathleen Jandreau, Potsdam, her son, Kzechariahs A. Fuller (Zech), Hermon, grandparents, Burton and Laura Bessette, Russell, brothers, Eric Lashua, Hermon, Jesse Jandreau, Norfolk, Bradley Jandreau, Potsdam, Anthony and Denise Stedman Rubado, Germany, a sister Katie and Andrew Dalton, Arizona. Missy was born March 8, 1976, in Potsdam, the daughter of Gerald Jandreau and Julie Bessette Rubado.   She graduated from Hermon DeKalb Central School in 1994.   She loved to do arts and crafts and sew. Henry Murray Miller., 90, of Richville, died, April 1, 2012, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 3rd , 2 -4 and 6 -8 PM, with a Mason service at 6:30 PM. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 4th, 2:30 PM, at the funeral home, Reverend William Hart officiating. Murray is survived by his companion, Ethel Newcombe, a sister, Mary Jane Miller, Potsdam, four nieces and four nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Merrill Miller, and a sister June Miller. He was born August 13, 1921 at his home, in Richville, where he lived his whole life, the son of Robert and Pauline Millar Miller. He was a WWII Army Veteran having earned the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal and the Victory Medal. He was the highway superintendent for the Town of DeKalb, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the FA & M #633 Richville, he enjoyed tinkering, fishing, going to the diner for coffee, and going to auctions. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Gouverneur Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Richville Volunteer Fire Department.
