Ricky L. Hendricks, 53, of Russell, died, August 12, 2012, at Canton Potsdam Hospital.    Ricky is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Nicole Hendricks, at home, brothers Bud and Vicky Hendricks, Richville, Roy Hendricks, Hermon and two nephews. He was born on September 5, 1958 in Gouverneur, the son of Percy and Bernice Kirkpatrick Hendricks. On July 23, 1988 he married Judy Church at the Edwards Methodist Church. Ricky was a laborer for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hailsboro. He loved to go hunting, fishing, working on cars and going to camp with friends. His wife Judy and daughter Nicole will have a gathering on September 8, 2012, 2 PM at the Hendricks’ family home, 669 CR 17, South Russell, for remembering, reminiscing and celebrating his life. Donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

  1. To Ricky’s family and friends, I am so very sorry to hear of Rick’s death. I went to school with Rick and he was always such a nice guy. Judy and Nicole, I am sending prayers your way, to give you the strength you need at this most difficult time, and the courage to stay strong and forge on. May God, good friends and fond memories help you through this painful experience. RIP Rick.

  6. I worked with Rick over the years at DOT and he was always ready with a good story about being at camp or one of his great hunting trips. I was deeply saddened by the news of his passing. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

    So sorry to hear about Mr. Hendricks. We met each other almost every morning as we passed driving to work. If I happened to pass a road job he was working on, he always gave me a big smile and a wave. I will miss his wave in the morning. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

  11. I worked from time to time with Rick at the DOT and talked to him many times on the phone when he requested supplies or ordered things. He was a great person to talk to and he always had a smile. His family is in our prayers.

  12. I had the pleasure of working with Rick at the DOT for the past 13 years. He was easy to talk about many things including deer hunting and old cars we had owned. He was very dedicated to his job. Rick spoke very lovingly of his wife and daughter. He will be greatly missed.

He was a great friend, spoke with great pride about you Nicole and was devoted to his family. Rick worked hard at his job for the DOT to provide for that family and loved to hunt with his friends.   14. Ricky was the best, such a fun loving man, he loved his family to no end and he made my cousin Judy so very happy! My heart felt condolences to Judy , nicole, and all the family . Such a shock to hear this, I wish I lived close to home to just lend a ear or be there for you! All my love , R.I.P. I an my daughter want to say thank you to everyone for the lovely comments.We are so very much apppreciative of everything that everyone has said and done for us.We will be having a Family and Friends gathering at our Hendricks Home,South Russell, 669cnty rt#17 around 2;00pm Saterday Sept 8th 2012.
