Jackson John David McLaughlin, became an angel on September 17, 2018. He is survived his parents Sherry (Newcombe) and John David McLaughlin of DeKalb, his brother Jacob Newcombe, maternal grandparents, Sheila and Scott Newcombe of DeKalb, paternal grandmother, Cindy Gordon Sr. and partner Richard Cherry of Edwards, great grandparents, Virginia Bullis of DeKalb, Howie and Marion Newcombe of DeKalb, uncles, Scott Newcombe Jr and fiancé Joshua Rose of Plattsburgh, Sean and Christy Newcombe of DeKalb, James Belonge of Hermon, Terry Gordon III and partner Kerry Ashley of Gouverneur, Jason and Katie Gordon of Edwards, Wallace and Daniel McLaughlin of Russell, aunts, Tina Wood of St. Regis Falls, Cindy Gordon Jr. and longtime partner Robert J. Facey of Edwards, 18 cousins, several great aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Terry Gordon Sr. and great grandfather Wheaton Bullis.

John E. Newvine, 60, of Gouverneur, died on September 7, 2018, at Strong Memorial Hospital. There will be calling hours on Saturday, September 15, 2018, 2 – 5 PM at the funeral home. John is survived by his wife, Vicki Newvine, his father, James Newvine of Plattsburgh, a son, Michael Newvine of Heuvelton, a daughter Rachel Newvine and Eric Payment of Tupper Lake, a brother, James Newvine Jr. of DeKalb Junction, a sister Jane Miller Newvine of Ovid, a granddaughter, Adelyn Mae Wayering of Tupper Lake, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Joann Newvine in 2010. John was born on November 5, 1957, in Gouverneur, New York, the son of James and Joann Horton Newvine. He graduated from Hermon DeKalb Central School, on May 25, 1991 he married Vicki Alguire at the Christ Church of Love in Old DeKalb. He worked for United Helpers in Evans Mills as a maintenance man, prior to that he worked for Witherbee and Whalen in Canton for many years. He loved playing golf, bowling, and playing horseshoes. He played horseshoes in the Green Belt League. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made his wife Vicki Newvine.
