Neale D. Hance

Neale D. Hance, 70, of Canton, died on May 9, 2019, at his home.  There will be a celebration of life at a later date.  Neale is survived by his sons, Neale E. Hance of Morley, Robert Hance of Canton, his daughter, Randi Lynne and Quentin Wright of Canton, brothers, David and Judy McMartin, Lawrence and Kathy McMartin, sisters, Ruby and Verde Snyder of Canton, Penny Rutherford, Tammy and David Allen of Lisbon, grandchildren, Logan Hance, Ethan Hance, Bryson Hance, Taylor Hance, Heaven Hance, Latham Rider, several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a son Silas Hance, and a brother, Steven Hance. Neale was born on July 5, 1948, in the Town of Canton, the son of the late, Clint Neale and Pauline Hance McMartin. He married Danette A. Hance on February 2, 1980, she died on February 21, 2017.  He was a laborer at Heuvelton Veneer Plant and a roofer at Bellinger’s Roofing in Canton. Neale enjoyed, spending time with his grandchildren, playing the guitar, and tell stories. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made American Lung Association.

Evelyn M. Fiefield

Evelyn M. Fiefield, 92, formerly of Richville, died on May 8, 2019, at Highland Nursing Home, Massena.  There will be a graveside service on June 29th, 2019 at 3:00 PM, at Maple Grove Cemetery, there will be a gathering following the burial at the Richville Volunteer Fire Dept..  Evelyn is survived by her son, Dean Simmons of Richville, daughters, Diane and Albert Hull of Richville, Dawn and Tommy MacDonald of Richville, Dinah and Daniel Miller of Churubusco, brothers, Maurice and Gladys Johnson of Hammond, Jason Johnson,  grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Dean Simmons, Deanna Simmons, Arthur Mac Donald, Lorne Mac Donald, Megan Mac Donald, Dane Miller, several great, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son Duane Simmons, brothers, Brayton Johnson, Lwellyn Johnson, Dwayne Johnson, Charlie Johnson, sisters, Bertha Rowe, Mabel Petell, Cecilia Johnson, and Lois Johnson. Evelyn was born on September 13, 1926, in Lapeer, Michigan, the daughter of the late, Brayton and Doris Smith Johnson Sr. She married Alfred Simmons on October 15, 1949 in Edwards, he died on October 30, 1989, she then married Lloyd Fiefield on December 19, 1998, he died on January 11, 2003.  She was a chamber maid in Gouverneur and at the Granview in Ogdensburg. Evelyn enjoyed, painting pictures, growing strawberries, traveling, country music and was an avid canner.
