  1. I was David’s wrestling coach at HDCS for six years, but we began out time together when he was a very young peewee wrestler. He was an amazing athlete. He was a New York state place winner twice and many time sectional champion. He won many tournaments, often being selected as the Most Outstanding Wrestler. He held the HDCS and Section X career win record when he finished his career. Needless to say we spent many, many hours together sharing the good times and the bad. When we scrimmaged other teams many of their wrestlers wanted to wrestle David to see how good they were, only to find out how good he was. Anyone who has wrestlers knows that it is a fraternity, we are saddened that our wrestling family has lost one of its own. I hope those close to David will find solace in remembering the good times he shared with us. Sadly his passing occurs when we are all isolated from one another as this pandemic continues, yet our hearts reach out to you now.

  2. lisa, barbara, and family: I am so sorry for your loss of boozer. I will not be able to attend calling hours since i had a stroke a few years ago and can no longer drive but you will all be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult tim. I will cherish all my memories of all the good times we had.

  3. I was David’s varsity wrestling coach at HDCS for six years, but we began when he was a peewee wrestler. Needless to say we spent many, many hours together. He was an amazing athlete. When he finished his career he held the HDCS and Section X career win record. He was member of three Section X Team Champions. He was twice a state place winner and multiple section X winner. He won numerous wrestling tournaments, often being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler. Wrestling is hard sport, requiring all-out effort day in and day out. David excelled in every aspect of the sport. Wrestlers form a fraternity, so losing David saddens us all. As I think back on my time with David I feel blessed to have been his coach, he will be missed. I hope that family and friends remember the good times of which there are many.

  4. We send our condolences to all. Such a huge loss. Cherish the beautiful memories. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the services, but you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

  5. My condolences to the family. Boozer was one of the sweetest guys I have ever meant. My thoughts and prayers to his loved ones.
