Leslie W. Donaldson, 85, of Canton, died, February 25, 2013, at Maplewood Campus, Canton. Services will be private. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville. Leslie is survived by his wife Helen, sons Leslie K. and wife Linda Donaldson, DeKalb Junction, Lee and wife Catherine Donaldson, Canton, Larry D. and wife Diane Donaldson, Canton, a daughter, Leola and husband Kenneth Fredette, Canton, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Jesse, Bernard, and Elmer Donaldson, sisters, Edna Eggleston, Florence Hilts, and Fannie Smith. He was born on July 15, 1927, in Gouverneur, the son of Jesse and Fannie Buck Donaldson. Leslie married Helen Blair on December 14, 1944. Leslie owned and operated his dairy farm in the Town of DeKalb for over 50 years. He loved to do woodworking, hunt, and going to field days. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association.

  1. helen and family your are in my prayers in your time of loss.I remember when I came to your home to help with leslie’s exercises etc. he always had a smile and energy we will all miss him very much.know that he will always be with you in your hearts and watching over you all

  2. My deepest sympathy to Aunt Helen, Cousins: Leslie, Lee, Larry and Leola. Uncle Leslie is now with the rest of his siblings. I miss them all very much and visit every year at Maple Grove. I cherish the times I had at the Farm with you all With Love,

I thought the world of Les he was a good man who brought such joy to my heart i will miss him.His smile and laughter just made your day and how i loved to dance and shout with Les when music was there,s just not enought words i can say about Les he was a man full of love how his eyes shined when they brought the kids around.Am sorry for your loss for we all lost a wonderful man.
