Vincent Pratt, 54, of Ogdensburg, died on February 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was a generous donation to science. There will be a memorial service on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2 PM, at the Fresh Start Fellowship Church (50 CR 14, Rensselear Falls), Pastor Reginald Curtis officiating. He is survived by his wife Cindy Pratt, sons, Michael Pratt of Ogdensburg, Justin and his wife Autumn Katura of Ogdensburg, James Middlemiss of Ogdensburg, a daughter Jennifer Austin of Ogdensburg, a brother, Richard Pratt of Morristown, sisters, Deborah and her husband Ed Stevenson of Lisbon, Jamie Barse and Steve “Rookie” Rookey of Lisbon, Donna “Dale” Pratt and husband Brian of Virginia, Sandra Hames and Dave of North Carolina, grandchildren, Paul Austin, Hayden Fifield, Olivia Austin, Trent Katura, Hailey Pratt, Amya Katura several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother George Pratt. Vincent was born on July 4, 1963, in Ogdensburg, New York, the son of the late George and Christine Bouleris Pratt. He married Cindy Austin, on May 12, 2000 at their home, Judge Fonda officiating. For a time Vincent owned and operated Pratt Taxi in Ogdensburg. Vincent enjoyed, antique picking, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping watching movies and television. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Stewart Dewey, 68, formerly of Plattsburgh, died on February 10, 2018, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Plattsburgh. There will be a graveside service June 9, 2018, 1 PM at Hermon Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Dewey, TN, his sister Eileen and her husband James Farrow of Clarksville, Tennessee, his brother, Dwight “Ike” and his wife Marilyn Dewey of Golden Meadow, Louisiana, several nieces and nephews. Stewart was born on October 19, 1949, in Plattsburgh, New York, the son of Herbert and Eleanor Hamilton Dewey. He graduated from Saranac High School, Saranac Lake, NY. He married Carol Thompson in Morrisonville, NY, she predeceased him on September 9, 2014. He was a lab tech for Ayerst Laboratory in Rouses Point, New York. Stewart enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Myrtle Scholl, 98, formerly of DeKalb, died on January 18, 2018, at Adirondack Tri County NRC. Burial will at Brant Lake Cemetery, at the convenience of her family. She is survived by her son David and his wife Nadine Todriff of Bolton Landing, he daughter, Cathy and her husband Grant Hayes of DeKalb Junction, 10 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, by siblings, Stanley Randlett, Laurence Randlett, Leon Randlett, Herbert Randlett, Ruby Payne, and Esther LaPier. Myrtle was born on March 3, 1919, in Chazy, New York, the daughter of the James and Flora Stiles Randlett. She married Orville Todriff on May 4, 1947 in West Plattsburgh, New York, he predeceased her on December 29, 1964, she then married Adolph Scholl on November 23, 1974 in Brant Lake, New York, and he predeceased her on June, 1993. She was a homemaker, a clerk at SS Kregess in Plattsburgh and also a librarian in West Chazy. Myrtle was the oldest member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Brant Lake, she was also a member of the DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizen Club. She loved knitting, reading, and traveling. Jean M. Tyo, 88, of DeKalb Junction, died on January 20, 2018, at her home. Calling hours will be, Thursday, January 25, 2018, 2- 4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home, a funeral mass will be Friday, January 26th, 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Canton, Father Bryan Stitt officiating, burial will be June 8, 2018 at 10 am at St. Henry’s Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife Bonnie Tyo of LaPlata, Maryland, Michael and his wife, Kelly Tyo of DeKalb Junction, David and his wife, Ellen Tyo of Depeyster, daughters, Lynn and her husband Doug Shoulette of Redwood, Cynthia Sperl of Trenton, Tennessee, a sister, Alice Stafford of Lafargeville, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, by siblings, Richard Wood, and Anne Smith. Jean was born on July 25, 1930, in Lorraine, New York, the daughter of the late James and Mildred Moore Wood. She was raised by her grandmother Maude Ann Moore. She attended elementary school in Lorraine, graduated from Adams High School, and received her registered nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown. She married Bernard Tyo on June 5, 1954 at the St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, New York, Father Tobin officiating, he predeceased her on May 23, 2008. Her career started at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh as the night nursing supervisor, she then worked at United Helpers Moongate Nursing Home in Canton, as the night nursing supervisor from 1970 until she retired in 1992. She was a parishioner of St. Henry’s Church and prior to that she was a parishioner and member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Mary’s of Lake Church in Plattsburgh. Jean loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, she was the town Grandma and she enjoyed cooking. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his daughters, Ann and her husband Brian White of Russell, Lorie and her husband David Gladle of Edwards, 6 grandchildren, Patrick Morrill, Amanda Oemcke, Leah White Megan McIntosh, April Gladle, Nicholas Gladle, 4 great grandchildren, Miles Morrill, Madison House, Tyler House and Lakeland Oemcke, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, by his daughter, Kathryn Hamilton, siblings, Harold Alguire, Maurice Alguire, Donald Alguire, Lyle Alguire, Clarence Alguire, MaryLou Alguire, Hazel Larue, Joyce Weaver, Helen Conger, and a great grandson Linden McIntosh V. Ken was born on December 14, 1932 the son of the late Harry and Anna Belle Thompson, Alguire. Kenneth married Lois J. Parish on December 15, 1956 at St. Henry’s Church, with Monsignor Thomas Robillard officiating, Lois died on May 11, 2014. He was a cheese cutter at McAdam Cheese until he retired in 1995. He was a parishioner of St. Raphael’s Church and enjoyed bowling, painting houses and mowing his lawn. Nelson Perrault, 60, formerly of, DeKalb, died on December 29, 2017, at Standifer Place, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Calling hours will be, Friday, January 5, 2018 , 4 – 7 PM, the funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 6th at the funeral home, Lay Minister Frank Carter officiating, burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. He is survived Darlene Webb, his partner of 32 years, brothers, Gary Perrault of Indiana, William Perrault of Rochester, Stanley Perrault of California, a sister in law, Elaine Perrault of Tennessee, a sister Renee Chase of Maryland, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, by a brother Bruce Perrault. Nelson was born on February 22, 1957 in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Clarence and Edna Hughes Perrault. He was a maintenance worker and janitor at La Quinta in Tennessee. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching television. She was predeceased, by a son, Theodore Enslow in 1998, a daughter, Diane Holly in 2012, a grandson, Michael Holly, siblings, Milford Basford, Kenneth Basford, John Basford, Milton Basford, Mildred Cota, Hilda Thomas, Helen LaPoint, Geneva Basford, Sadie Grimshaw. Dorothy was born on February 16, 1917 in Canton, the daughter of the late Harrison and Lorena Lincoln Basford. She married Howard Enslow on February 20, 1935, he died on June 25, 1993. She and her husband farmed for many years on West Road in Russell, she also worked at Barlow’s Nursing Home in Canton as an aide, at the St. Lawrence County Jail as a cook and sitter. She turned her home into a certified boarding home “Enslow’s Home” for 25 – 30 years, she retired in July 1994. She was a former member of the Russell Senior Citizens, Russell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She loved crocheting, knitting, quilting, and playing Pedro. Rathbun and fiancé James Farnsworth, Laura Gallo and boyfriend Paul Pinto Jr. of Springfield, Vermont, a brother, Thomas and his wife Sharon Rathbun of North Lawrence, sisters, Arlene Fifield of Gouverneur, Helen Macy of Plattsburgh, 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, by siblings, Benjamin Rathbun, Raymond Rathbun, Charles Rathbun, Robert Rathbun, Edward Rathbun, Nora Mae Rathbun, Alice Cross, and Linda Gonyea. Chester was born on May 10, 1947 in Plattsburgh, New York, the son of the late Norman E. and Elizabeth M. LaFountain Rathbun. Marriages to Diane Russell and Cindy Guyette ended in divorce. He was a laborer for Fisher Price in Keyesville, New York. He loved being with his grandchildren, scrapping metal, fishing, and hunting. David D. Pate, 59, of Hermon, died on September 13, 2017, at the Hospice of Jefferson County Residence. There will a memorial service on October 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Ogdensburg. He is survived by his fiancé Dolores Hunneyman, a son, David “McKenzie” Pate of South Carolina, grandchildren, Kiley and Aubrey. He was born on June 27, 1958 in Calhoun, Alabama, the son of the late Norbert D. and Ethellean Roper Pate, he graduated from Anniston High School and then received an Associate Degree in Mechanics. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1978. David was a farmer in North Lawrence. He enjoyed carpentry, mechanical work and tinkering. Pauline G. Leonard, 84, of Pyrites, died on September 1, 2017, at her son’s home. There will be no services. She is survived by her sons, Cornelius B. Leonard and his partner Michelle Lalone of Hermon, Calvin (Spook) C. Leonard Jr. and his wife Shayne (Lalone) of Pyrites, siblings, Wayne and his wife Patty Brabaw of Potsdam, Sharon (Ditty) Allen of Pyrites, Marlene and her husband Arnold Cota of Woodruff, SC, grandsons, Michael Leonard and companion Heather Briggs, Anthony Leonard, Christopher Leonard, great grandson Oscar Leonard, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, by siblings, Ceylon (Bum) Brabaw, Eunice (Puff) Corbine, Joan Brown, and Bonnie Brabaw. Pauline was born on February 7, 1933 in the Town of Canton, the daughter of the late Ceylon and Jesse Martin Brabaw, she graduated from Canton High School in 1951. She married Calvin Leonard Sr. at the Trinity Church in Potsdam, on November 24, 1954, he predeceased her on January 13, 2011. She was the food service manager at St. Lawrence University until her retirement in 1985. Pauline was a member of the Grief Support Group in Canton and the Canton Senior Citizen Club. She loved being with her family and friends, also living in Florida in the winters. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, traveling and going to garage sales. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
