Laura H. Cushing, 83, formerly of Canton, died on December 12, 2015 at Elderwood at Wheatfield in Niagara Falls. On December 16th at the Fairview Cemetery Chapel, Canton, there will be a calling hour at 12 PM followed by the funeral service at 1 PM, Reverend David Weisserd officiating. She is survived by her son Karl and his wife Leslie Cushing of Ortonville, Michigan, daugthers, Karen Schneebeli of  Watertown, New York,  Jean and her husband Joseph Ott of Depew, New York a sister, Mary Drexler of Marcellus, New York,  grandchildren, Dr. and Mrs. Melissa and her husband Justin Macy, Peter Schneebeli, Heidi and her husband Evan Himes, Lindsay Cushing, Ashley Cushing, Thomas Cushing, great grandchildren, Scott and Maya, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Guy Cushing, and a brother, William Hutchinson. Laura was born on March 3, 1932, in Rochester, New York, the daughter of the William and Celia Deuel Hutchinson. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1966 with a nursing degree. Laura married Gerald Cushing in Rochester in 1955, he predeceased her in 1989. She worked as a public health nurse for the City of Detroit, in New York and Massachusetts. Contributions can be made to the charity of ones choice.

    Much love to you as you celebrate your mother’s life and mourn her loss. She is such a part of my Thanksgiving memories of childhood, surrounded by you all and never missing a thing.
