Carole M. Castor, 71, of Heuvelton, died on October 20, 2023, at SUNY Upstate Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 28, 2023, 1 – 4 PM at the Grace Point Wesleyan Church in Heuvelton. Carole is survived by her husband, Lyle L., daughters, Christina and her husband Brian Kunath of West Chazy, Amanda and her husband, Jeremey King of Marcellus, her sisters, Susan and her husband Curtis Bell of Macomb, Joan Sevey of Rochester, grandchildren, Ryan Kunath and Crystal Grady, Cassee Kunath and Jason LaDue Jr, Brianna Kunath, Bailey Kunath, Lance Kunath, Abigail King, great grandchildren, Diamond Miller, Paxton Kunath and Quincey Kunath, several nieces and nephews. Carole was born on April 4, 1952 the daughter of the late, George and Cora Riley Bogardus in Gouverneur. In 1970 she graduated from Hermon DeKalb Central School. Carole continued her education at Canton ATC, graduating in 1973 with an Associate’s Degree in business administration.  She married Lyle Castor on her birthday, April 4, 1975 at the DePeyster Methodist Church. Carole was a housekeeper and laundress at the United Helpers Nursing Home from 1987 until her retirement in 2020.  She was a member of the Grace Point Wesleyan Church in Heuvelton. Carole loved to read, do puzzles, going to garage sales, and scrap booking.  She loved owls and her cats which she called fur babies.  But above all else, her family was her greatest love of all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ogdensburg SPCA.

  1. Lyle, Christina, Amanda and family, I am so sorry to hear of Carole’s passing and I know how much you will miss her. Please know my thoughts and prayers are there with you all.   4. Lyle, Chrissy & Amanda, sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I lost touch with Carole after I left United Helpers. We always had fun @work whenever we were together.
