Lea Joyce is survived by her parents, Robert and Miranda Cooke Bango of DeKalb Junction, maternal grandmother Tammy Simser, DeKalb Junction, maternal grandfather, Gary  Cooke of Ogdensburg, paternal grandparents, Tim and Cindy Bango, Richville, brothers, Nicolas and Brayden Bango, she was predeceased by a sister, Emma J. Lois Jean Alguire, 80, of DeKalb, died on May 11, 2014, at Maplewood Health Care. Calling hours will be May 13, 2 – 4 and 6 -8 PM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be May 14, 10:00 am at St. Raphael,s Church, Heuvelton, Father Kevin O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at St. Henry’s Cemetery, DeKalb. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Alguire, daughters, Ann (Brian) White, Russell, Lorie (David) Gladle, Edwards, grandchildren, Patrik Morrill, Amanda Hamilton, Leah White, Megan White, April Gladle, Nicholas Gladle, 3 great grandchildren, brothers, Philip Parish, Palm Beach, FL, Neil Parish, Heuvelton, sisters, Barbara Price, Joyce Bice, Sharon Murdock, all of DePeyster, Marilyn Mullin, Gouverneur, many nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn Hamilton and a great grandson, Linden McIntosh V. Lois was born in DePeyster, on December 28, 1933, the daughter of Wilbert and Grace Witherell Parish. She graduated from Heuvelton High School in 1951. Lois married Kenneth Alguire on December 15, 1956 at the St. Henry’s Church in DeKalb Junction, Monsignor Thomas Robillard officiating. She was a housewife and had also worked at J. J. Newberry’s and McCadam Cheese Company. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, baking and decorating cakes. One of her greatest joys was making ginger bread houses and Christmas cookies. Contributions can be made to the Richard Winter Cancer Center.

Leslie W. Donaldson, 85, of Canton, died, February 25, 2013, at Maplewood Campus, Canton. Services will be private. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville. Leslie is survived by his wife Helen, sons Leslie K. and wife Linda Donaldson, DeKalb Junction, Lee and wife Catherine Donaldson, Canton, Larry D. and wife Diane Donaldson, Canton, a daughter, Leola and husband Kenneth Fredette, Canton, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Jesse, Bernard, and Elmer Donaldson, sisters, Edna Eggleston, Florence Hilts, and Fannie Smith. He was born on July 15, 1927, in Gouverneur, the son of Jesse and Fannie Buck Donaldson. Leslie married Helen Blair on December 14, 1944. Leslie owned and operated his dairy farm in the Town of DeKalb for over 50 years. He loved to do woodworking, hunt, and going to field days. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association.

Fleming, 92, of DeKalb Junction, died, September 6, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Graveside service will be at the East DeKalb Cemetery, September 10, 2012, 11:00 am, Lay Pastoral Assistant Martha Helmer officiating. Lillian is survived by her daughters, Donna Lillis, Liverpool, Carol and William O’Horo, Canton, Linda  and David Bishop, DeKalb Junction, Cindy and Rod Johnston, Arizona, a brother Earl Jeffers, Arizona, grandchildren, Michael and Michelle Lillis, Jeremy and Justin Bristol, Rebecca, Zachary, Emily and Sarah Bishop,great grand children, Kyle and Lily Bristol, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Fleming, a brother, Claude Jeffers, sisters, Keitha Hall, and Ilene Woods. Lillian was born on November 16, 1919 in the Town of Gouverneur, the daughter of Claude and Pearl Burnham Jeffers. She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1936 as valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at Potsdam Normal School and graduated in 1939 with a Bachelors of Education degree. Lillian married Lloyd H. Fleming on August 28, 1943 at the DeKalb Junction Methodist Parsonage he died on December 8, 2002. Lillian was a teacher at Hermon DeKalb Central School from 1962 until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Richville for over 65 years, a member of NYSUTA, and Retired NYSUTA. Lillian loved her cat Lucy, to read, do crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and needlework. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Lyle P. Masters, 69, of Leroy, died June 7, 2011. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 11, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., the funeral service will follow, at the funeral home with the Reverend William Masters officiating. Burial will be in the Old DeKalb Cemetery, Old DeKalb.

Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, is in care of arrangements.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons Lyle P. Masters II, Old DeKalb, Brian J. Masters, Webster, and Perry T. Masters, Canton; daughters Linda (Edward) Newcombe, Rensselaer Falls, Diane (Thomas) Pike, Heuvelton, Terry (Ed) Emrich, TX, Sherry (Dean) Johnson, TX, and Cherrie Masters, TX; brother Ken Masters Jr; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Masters.

He was born in the Town of DeKalb, the child of Kenneth and Mabel Perry Masters on July 27, 1941. He married Nancy Poore, April 6, 1976 at their home in Depeyster. Lyle was a farmer and worked for the Town of Depeyster Highway Department.

He was a member of the Old DeKalb Methodist Church and Leroy Methodist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, dance and music.

Lana-Stransky.gifLana Stransky, 21 months, of Hermon, died March 7, 2011, at Fletcher Allen Medical Center, Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, in care of arrangements. Calling hours will be at the funeral home, Saturday, March 12, 1 – 4 p.m., the funeral service will be Sunday, March 13, 1:00 PM at the Hermon United Methodist Church, with Reverend William Hart officiating, a remembrance will follow at the Hermon Fire Hall.

Lana is survived her parents John and Kathryn Ferrick Stransky, Hermon; a sister, Katharina Frank; grandmothers Judith Stransky, DeKalb Junction and Margaret Reed, Hermon; and great grandmothers, Pat Merria, Ogdensburg, Margaret Grant, Hermon, and Marion Reed, Hermon.

She was predeceased by a sister, Alina Stransky.

She was born May 26, 2009 in Ogdensburg. She loved her sister, watching Disney TV and hated taking baths.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Hermon DeKalb Central School for a scholarship in memory of Lana Stransky.
