Elaine M. Dusharm, 84, of DeKalb Junction, died on February 2nd, 2017, at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Calling hours will be, Monday, February 6th, 1- 3 PM, the funeral service will follow at 3 PM, Pastor John Frary officiating, at the funeral home, burial will be in the spring at the Hermon Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Duane and his wife Jo Dusharm of Philadelphia, daughters Donna Russell and Willis Shattuck of DeKalb Junction, Donita McIntosh and Bob Sweeney of Dannemora, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a nephew Elwood Fanning. She was predeceased by a son, Douglas Dusharm, a grandson, Joseph Russell, and a brother, Richard Fanning. Elaine was born on March 20, 1932 in Russell, the daughter of the late Wayne and Lois Wells Fanning, she graduated from the DeKalb High School in 1949. Also in 1949, she married Lester James Dusharm, he predeceased her on January 6, 1983. She was a retail clerk at ARC in Kingman, Arizona. She loved being with her family. She enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat, and being at “The River”. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Joseph Russell Memorial Fund, 332 Jeffers Road, DeKalb Junction, New York 13630.

  4. So sorry to hear of Elaine’s passing. She was a fine lady and everyone that knew her cherished her ! My thoughts go back to when she worked at Loopy’s and Kathy and Lori worked with her. Some fun stories ! Prayers, comfort & love. Bill
