  1. I am so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. She was one of the most generous people I have ever met. At work she was always kind and went above and beyond to make sure that the residents were well cared for and comfortable. On a personal level, I don’t know what I would have done without her when the girls were small. I know that it couldn’t have been easy for her to babysit them after working a 6-2 shift. I will never forget the Easter morning she left a giant easter basket on the porch for them and we used the giant christmas stockings that she crocheted for them right up until last year. She was a good friend. Even though I haven’t seen much of her since she moved to Hannawa, I will miss her and always think of her with fond memories.

I pray that God is with you all during this difficult time.
    Debby

  4. I am so very sorry for your loss Amanda, Kathy’s parents, and sister’s also Danny. Kathy and I go way back. I worked w/ her at Untited Helper’s we were best of friends way back then, I was her Matron of Honor at her wedding, I was there when Amanda was born, but through the years we lost contact w/ each other after I quit working at Untited Helper’s we would run into each other every now and again, she told me what was going on in her life as well as what was going on in mine. Then about 1 1/2 years ago we hooked up again through facebook actually we were almost neighbors she lived in Hannawa and I in Pierrepont. Her marriage ended in divorce as well as mine so we basically went through pretty much the same things she met Danny and was very happy and I met Tom and very happy! We were going to get together to have lunch to catch up on old times, but the good lord decided he needed her more and it never happened. I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy you will be greatly missed by me as well as all the other people life’s you touched RIP my Dearest Friend.

this time of heartache. God must have bigger plans for her. Maybe as an

  11. To the family of Kathryn – while I did not know or meet her – my family knew the Collins family and Danny – to all and Danny – it is so hard to loose someone, especially so young. I heard from my Aunt Nancy Shea what a wonderful woman she was and how wonderful she was to you, Danny, and your children. While not knowing her I get the feeling she was an awesome loving woman. To hear so much good about a person is truly wonderful. Memories of all the good things are important and I am sure you have many. My thoughts and prayers are with you –

I was shocked to hear about Kathy, she is so young. I didn’t know her well but I remember when she and Asa used to be Mr. and Mrs. Santa for the DeKalb fire Dept. and thought they made wonderful Mr. and Mrs. Santas. I just want you to know I am thinking of you both and her family.

    Meet You At The Gate

A beautiful garden now stands alone,
missing the one who nurtured it
    But now she is gone,
Her flowers still bloom, and the sun it still shines,
But the rain is like tear drops, for the ones left behind,
The weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away,
But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
she loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love she would plant with each little seed,
But just like her flowers she was part of Gods plan,
So when it was her time he reached down his hand,
He looked through the Garden searching for the best,
That’s when he found Kathy, it was her time to rest,
It was hard for those who loved her, to just let her go,
But God had a spot in his garden, that needed a gentle soul,
So when you start missing Kathy, remember if you just wait,
When God has a spot in his garden, She’ll meet you at the gate….

  19. It had been a long while since I had gotten to see my cousin Kathryn, but my Mom kept me up-to-date on all the great things she did for people throughout her all-too-short life. But, it was a productive one, accented by her generosity and kind heart. To my Aunt Lois and Uncle Kenny, and to my cousins Anne and Lori, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Kathryn was a remarkable person, and God surely has special plans for her. I will miss her, but my memories of when we were all kids at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, and at family reunions, will live on.
