Diane Ruth Brown 76, of Cousintown Road. died peacefully Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY with her family at her side. Diane was born on June 9, 1945 to the late Albert & Edith Beverly Wheeler in Ogdensburg.

She graduated from Knox Memorial Central School in 1963. She married Donnie Ward Jr. on April 3, 1965. Mr. Ward died on September 17, 1983. She then married David Brown on September 5, 1987 in DeKalb Jct.

She worked at the Standard Shade Roller Company in Ogdensburg and St. Lawrence University. The jobs she enjoyed most were being a mother, grandmother and homemaker. Diane enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, old western movies and she loved birdwatching and her flowers.

She is survived by her husband David Brown; four children, Lori (John) Kingrey, Donnie (Robin) Ward III., Richie (Nicky) Ward, Jason Brown; two sisters; Patricia Rickett and Karen (Charlie) Bjork; ten grandchildren, Crystal (Sean) Sterling, John (Vicky) Kingrey II., Thomas Kingrey, Jacob (Amber) Kingrey, D.J. (Brooke) Ward IV., Katelyn (Tim) Smith, Kassidy Ward, Heavyn Ward, Marissa Bacon and Camryn Ward and ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Diane is also survived by five step-children; Kevin Brown, Danny Brown, Debbie Weller, Lisa Brown, David (Barb) Brown Jr. and sixteen step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother Wayne Wheeler; a sister, Beverly Jean Grant and a step-daughter Karen Carr.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Allen-Denesha Funeral Home in Dekalb Junction located at 4330 USH 11, Dekalb Junction, New York 13630.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home with Pastor, John Frary officiating. Burial will follow in the Hermon Cemetery.

Ella M. Kio, 90, of Black Lake and formerly Hermon, died on June 29, 2021, at her home. There will be calling hours on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 12-2 PM, at the funeral home, the funeral service will be at 2 PM, Reverend Thomas Nichols officiating, burial will follow at Hermon Cemetery, Hermon, NY. Ella is survived by her husband of 69 years, Levi, a son, Alan and wife Mary Kio of Liverpool, a daughter in law, Cheryl Walrath of Hermon, nephew and niece, Dale and Donna Thomas of DePeyster, grandsons, Michael and his wife Sabrina Kio of Fort Ann, Alan James and wife Jennifer Kio of Camillus, 5 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son Robert Kio, siblings, Erwin, Edwin, Wayne and Eric Carr, Orlean Laware, Helen Harmon, Eva Sherman and Betty Ledger. She was born on March 25, 1931 in Norfolk, to the late, Floyd and Myrtle Barkley Carr. Ella married Levi C. Kio on October 18, 1952 at the Richville United Methodist Church. Ella was previously the town clerk of Hermon. She was a past member of the Hermon Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Madrid Methodist Church and Madrid Youth Fellowship. Ella loved spending time with her family, camping, fishing, reading and hunting. Teresa Ann Warren Sack

Teresa Ann Warren came into the world April 15, 1967 at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, daughter of Rose (Reed) Warren & Keith Jerome Warren, at a very blue 11 pounds 1 oz, with the doctor advising he expected future medical issues. He was so right. Teresa was born with challenges most people have never heard of. She had a genetic neurological condition called Neurofibromatosis which was finally diagnosed at age 5 when she went into a full upper body brace for Scoliosis. The brace was her constant companion other than an hour a day for bathing and exercises until age 14 when she underwent surgery, with a second surgery a few months later; she came home about 3 inches taller in a full upper body cast worn 8 months; after that, goodbye stretch pants, hello to jeans.

She attended schools in Morristown, and Lisbon, N.Y., graduating from Lisbon Central School, receiving awards from Who’s Who in American High Schools, and the National Honor Society, both for academic achievement; she completed a two-year Associate Degree at now defunct Maria Regina College in Syracuse, receiving an award from Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges; then attended and graduated from Plattsburg State University. After college she moved to Greenwood Lake, NY, sharing residence with her college roommate and subsequent lifelong friend, Trish. Shortly after moving to Greenwood Lake, she met and married the love of her life, Samuel Sack, New Brunswick, N.J. They lived in Plainsboro, N.J., Oxnard, Ca., where son Mark was born, Middletown, N.Y., and Lawrenceville, N.J. For a portion of her life, Teresa worked in nursing homes as a diet tech.

After moving to Lawrenceville, she became a substitute teacher of young handicapped children, which she loved, maybe even her true calling. She substituted at various schools but mainly Benjamin Franklin School, Lawrence, N.J. When a child made even slight progress under her tutelage, it gave her wings to know she had helped someone. Throughout life, she has faced life-threatening issues and surgeries, dealt with her disfiguring appearance of thousands of very prominent, very visible fibroid tumors. In spite of her appearance, she carried herself with grace and dignity, not allowing anyone or anything to get her down, always with that quirky sense of humor, friendly demeanor, and beautiful smile. She enjoyed reading, making jewelry and looming, gifting projects to nieces and nephews. When not at school, she was happy as a housewife and mother. At the other end, Mark also has Neurofibromatosis and his parents faced the stinging knowledge of their child having a pediatric brain tumor and the loss of a kidney from the disease.

Teresa passed in her sleep in the early morning of October 29, 2020. She shares that date with her Grandmother, Marion Reed, who passed away October 29, 2011, and Brother-in-Law Jerry Majetich, brutally attacked while serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, again October 29, 2005. Though surviving, he received multiple injuries from an IED, the most noticeable being the partial loss of a hand, his nose (rebuilt) and his ears, with 38{15c4376e9dc03d1ece550175af112b5bfa8aeed382182248effd1ca099958ac2} of his body burned. Jerry and Teresa had bonded over their mutual disfiguring challenges, especially when encountering the public.

Teresa was predeceased by her Father, Keith J. Warren; Uncles Donald & Edward Warren, Bernard Reed; Aunts: Agnes White, Alice Robinson; Grandparents, Fred & Marion Reed; Ella & Michael Warren; In-laws, Max & Alice Sack; Brother, Robert Brenno.

A graveside service will be at 3 PM at the Hermon Cemetery, Hermon, NY with Robert LeClair officiating on September 4, 2021. John E. Davis, 86, of Hermon, died on May 27, 2021, at his home. There will be no services. John is survived by his wife Elaine, a brother James Davis and a sister Esther Jennings. He was predeceased by his brother, Morris Davis, and a sister Doris Davis. He was born on January 26, 1935 in Pierrepont, to the late Erwin and Francis LaLonde Davis. John was in the Army from 1957 – 1959 when he was honorably discharged. He married Beulah Enslow on October 12, 1959, she died on December 18, 2014, and he then married Elaine Gollinger on April 15, 2017. He worked as a construction worker in Niagara Falls and then as a truck driver. He was a member of the DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizen Club, a member and past chief of the Hermon Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Gouverneur Elks Club, Teamsters Union in Massena, Carr Pond Hunting Club, and a past member of AMVETS Post 11. He enjoyed going to Woody’s for coffee in the morning, hunting, watching Westerns, and was a Boston Red Socks Fan. Donald W. Cook, 90, of Hermon, died on March 26, 2021, at his home. There will be calling hours on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 1 – 4 PM, at the funeral home, a funeral mass will be Monday, March 29, 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Canton, Father Brian Stitt officiating, burial will follow at St. Henry’s Cemetery, DeKalb Junction. Due to COVID restrictions face masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home and church. Donald is survived by his sons, Steven and his wife Kitty Cook of Massena, Roy Cook of Hermon, daughters, Donna and her husband John Collins of Russell, Deborah and her husband Vincent Warren of Malone, Vicki and her husband William Riley of Ballston Lake, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Dennis Cook, his daughter, Christina Cook, a brother, Bernard Cook, sisters, Marion Reed, Rebecca Brunet, Margaret Kirkey, and Rita Blevins. He was born on May 22, 1930 in Ogdensburg, to the late, Roy and Veronica Tiernan Cook. He graduated from Hermon School in 1949. Don married Lula Mae Coller on October 23, 1950 at St. Henry’s Church, Father Parisian officiating, she died on July 26, 2019. He worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway in the late 50’s and was a farmer on his family’s farm. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, and previously St. Henry’s Church, where he was on the parish council, he was a member of the Bell Hunting Club. He was the Hermon Town Assessor, in 1976. He loved spending time with his family and working on the family farm with his Dad. He played basketball, baseball, poker, Pedro, raced cars, and gave rides with his horse drawn wagon. Carl is survived by his sons, Jeremy and his wife Brittany Bristol of Scotia, Justin and his wife Karen Bristol of DeKalb Junction, brothers, Rodney Bristol of Russell, Sidney and his wife Tina Bristol of Russell, Jeffrey Bristol of Potsdam, Leo Bristol of Russell, sisters Carolyn and her husband Tom Moulthorp of Canton, Vera “Jeannine” Randall of Ohio, grandchildren, Kyle Bristol, Lily Bristol, Sam Vandeputte, John Vandeputte, several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Bristol. He was born on June 20, 1953 in Gouverneur, to the late, Leo and Esther Dennee Bristol. He graduated from Hermon DeKalb Central School in 1972 and attended classes at SUNY Canton. Carl married Carol Fleming on July 30, 1977 which ended in divorce. He worked at Newton Falls Paper Mill, was a driver for LeBerge and Curtis, Diamond Propane and M&M Trucking in Russell. He was a member of the Hermon Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and fishing. Beverly T. Conklin, 95, of Clayton and formerly of Richville, died on March 16, 2021, at her home. A private burial will be in the spring at Hillcrest Cemetery. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Christine Matthews of Clayton, stepsons, Edward and his wife Ruth Conklin of DeKalb, Norman Conklin of Watertown, Vickie Comacho of Arizona, Cheryl and her husband Carl Clark of Harrisville, a sister, Mary Cowles of Plattsburg, 3 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son Danford Thornton on June 20, 1976 and her brother Rodney Jennings. She was born on September 27, 1925 in Gouverneur, to the late, Judson and Gertrude Jones Jennings. She graduated from Potsdam High. Bev married Judson Thornton on April 24, 1943 and he died on March 19, 1960, she then married Curtis Conklin on May 16, 1964 he died on December 20, 2013. She was a mental therapy aide at Marcy Psychiatric Center in Marcy, New York. She enjoyed knitting, animals of all kinds and gardening. She loved her cats Lucy and Buddy. Georgia is survived by her sons, Wade and his wife Christina Brothers of Arkansas, Dennis and his wife Nina Brothers of Missouri, a daughter Amy and her husband Robert Smith of Hermon, a brother John Edward Moulton of Madrid, a foster sister Louise Planty of Ogdensburg, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother Earl Peter Moulton. She was born on August 13, 1947 in the village of Potsdam, to the late, George Joseph and Olive Marie Chatell Moulton. She graduated from Madrid Waddington High School in 1965 and then graduated from the Richard DeToto school of Hairstyle, Syracuse in 1966. Georgia married Hubert Brothers on March 26, 1966 at the Madrid United Methodist Church in, he died on October 5, 2016. She was a hair dresser, she owned and operated The Junction Snip It, retiring in July 2014, and prior to that she owned The Isle of Style in Canton. She was a member of the Kendrew Grange and the Richville Home Fellowship Church. She loved spending time with her family, playing the piano, and singing in the choir. She raised many foster children here and in Kentucky and was a Fresh Air Fund family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Richville Baptist Church or the Kendrew Grange.

Freda is survived by her sons, Michael and his wife Susan Spadaccini of Dexter, Allen and his wife Julie Spadaccini of DeKalb Junction, a daughter, Mary and her husband Douglas Dobson of Canton, grandchildren, Andrea and her husband Jon Roma of Vestal, Marina Spadaccini and her companion Shawn Thompson of Boiling Springs, NC, Angela and her husband Glenn Thomas of Canton, Caitlin Spadaccini of Burlington, VT, Jenevieve Spadaccini of Burlington, Vt, Jonathon Hermanson of South Dakota, Jamie and his wife Heather Peters of DeGrasse, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Marie Daniels. She was born on February 20, 1932 in Pierrepont, to the late, Elmer and Jennie Shantal Enslow. Freda married Michael Spadaccini on May 3, 1952 at St. Henry’s Church, DeKalb Junction, he died on September 21, 1996. She was a devoted homemaker her whole life. She was dearly loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She was a past parishioner of St. Henry’s Church, a member of the DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizens Club, and TOPS of DeKalb.
