Donna L. Peters, 70, of DeKalb Junction, died on May 11, 2017, at her home. There will be calling hours, June 24th, 2017, 1 – 4 PM, a Memorial Service will follow, Pastor David Hart officiating. She is survived by her husband, Joseph H., sons, Jeff Peters of DeKalb Junction, Michael and his wife Nancy Peters of Hermon, Steven and his wife Karen Peters of Denver, Colorado, a brother Charles Powell of Canton, sisters, Caroline Conklin of Chenango Bridge, Roxanne and her husband David Bigelow of DeKalb, Debra and her husband Rick Johnston of Gouverneur, grandchildren, Adam Peters, Jon Peters, Emily Peters, Jim Peters, Lucas Peters and Seth Peters, several nieces and nephews. Donna was born on October 27, 1946 in Gouverneur, the daughter of the late Roger and Bridgette McNally Powell, she graduated from Hermon DeKalb Central School. She married Joseph Peters on September 4, 1965 at St. Henry’s Church, DeKalb Junction. Donna was a clerk/bookkeeper at SUNY Canton before retiring, prior to that she was a clerk at Jubilee in Canton. She volunteered at Maplewood Campus in Canton and at the Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County Fair. She was a past member of the Old DeKalb Grange and a parishioner at St. Henry’s Church. Dorothy Caswell Morrison, 81, of Canton, NY passed in her sleep February 19, 2017, the night before her 82 birthday, in Zephyrhills, FL. She was born February 20, 1935 to Andrew and Flora (Taylor) Caswell. She married James Morrison on April 11, 1953 in Canton, NY.
Dorothy attended Canton Central School and graduated from Potsdam State University with a Master’s Degree. She loved teaching, loved her students and her students loved her. She retired from Canton Central School after teaching for 20 years. Dorothy will probably be remembered most for her love of teddy bears. She was a tremendous cook, a talented artist and loved to recite poems/jingles. She had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. We loved her giggle. She enjoyed Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, crossword puzzles and playing computer solitaire.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alberta and Alma; brother, Orrin. Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 64 years, James S. Morrison; 8 children, Sheryl Morrison ( Lynn Blackmore), James (Terry) Morrison, Andrew (Sandy) Morrison, Wrenette “Wendy” Landreth, Daniel (Cammy) Morrison, Dixie (Loren) Widrick, Lori Morrison (Robert Heman), and Scott Morrison ( Stephanie Meeker); 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 9 siblings; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held May 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church, 4302 US HWY 11, DeKalb Jct., NY. Pastor Loren B. Widrick officiating. Reception following at the DeKalb Junction Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the DeKalb Junction Fire Dept. or a charity of one’s choice.

David E. “Mort” Peck, 74, of DeKalb Junction, died on March 8, 2017. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, March 12, 2017, 1 PM, at the DeKalb Junction Fire Department, Pastor Bill Scott officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. He is survived by daughters, Vicki and her husband Buddy Bice of Gouverneur, Marjorie Hosmer and Cindy Pickard of Canastota, Betty Jo Peck and Everett Stowell of Detroit, Michigan, step children, Albert Gamer of Hackettown, New Jersey, Millie and her husband Michael Smith of Canton, Susan Gamer Forbes and her husband William Forbes of DeKalb Junction, Naomi and her husband Robert Drake of DeKalb Junction, a brother, Carlton and his wife Carley Peck of Heuvelton, grandchildren, Catherine and her husband Erik Bice, Stephanie Stowell, Jennifer Stowell, John David Stowell, Maison Pankey, Roshelle Drake, Robert Drake III, Abagail Drake, William Forbes, Justin Forbes, Natasha Faunce, Amber Smith, Jordan Smith, Nick Whitney, Ryan Faunce, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David E. Peck Jr, a brother,  a sister Marjorie Blackburn, another sister and step mother Helen Peck. Mort was born on July 12, 1942 in Gouverneur, the son of the late Elmer and Isabella M. King Peck, he graduated from Gouverneur High School. He married Eva Austin in November of 1968, which ended in divorce, he was with Virginia Gamer from 1980-1992. David worked at the Hermon ARC as a printer for 35+ years, retiring in 2009, and prior to that he worked at a slaughterhouse in Gouverneur and the Gouverneur Movie Theatre as a projectionist. He was a 25+ year member of the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department, Gouverneur Bowling League for 15 years, Ogdensburg Bowling League for 10 years, and the Gouverneur and Hermon Fast Slow Pitch Softball League for 20+ years. He loved being a fireman. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department.

Danette A. Hance, 58, of Rensselaer Falls, died on February 21, 2017. There will be a celebration of Danette’s life will be Saturday, March 18th, 2017, 1 PM at the Pyrites Fire Station. She is survived by her husband, Neale D., her sons, Neale E. Hance of Morley, Robert Hance of Rensselaer Falls, her daughter, Randi Lynne Hance of Canton, her brother, Roger Delorme of Abilene, Texas, her sisters, Dorcas “Sam” and her husband Russell Lottie of DeKalb Junction, Michelle and her husband Wayne Cronk of Hermon, Marsha and her husband Richard Rogers of Texas, Pamela and her husband Charles Carrow of Texas, grandchildren, Logan Hance, Ethan Hance, Bryson Hance, Taylor Hance, Heaven Hance , Lathan Rider, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Silas Hance, brothers, Randy Delorme, Rodney Delorme and, Edward Delorme. Danette was born on February 10, 1959 in Canton, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Audrey M. Coffey Delorme, she graduated from Canton Central School. She married Neale Hance on February 2, 1980. Danette worked at the Best Western in Canton as a housekeeper. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, reading and crocheting. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Dorothy M. Anderson, 85, of DeKalb Junction, died on July 29, 2015 at Maplewood Campus, Canton. There will be no services. She is survived by her daughter Debra and her husband Leonard Osborn of DeKalb Junction, granddaughters Shelby Dudley, Shiron White, and Sheena Harris, great grandchildren, Tyler Harris, Emma Dudley, Isaiah White, Marcus White and Jacob White all of DeKalb Junction , several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Leonard Miller, Jerry Miller, Rudolph Miller, Frank Miller, Fred Miller, Gilbert Miller, Geneva Gadway, Loretta Giroux, Leona Boulrice, Elizabeth Gervais, and Flossie Miller. Dorothy was born on October 23, 1929 in Mooers Forks, New York, the daughter of Gilbert and Genevieve Peete Miller. She married Frederick C. Ero in 1960, he died in 1967, she then married Walter R. Anderson in 1972, and he died in 1988. She worked at Delagar in Lake Champlain until her retirement. Dorothy was a past parishioner at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks. She loved cats, traveling and making beaded necklaces. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

David F. Cutrie, 57, of Heuvelton, died on June 15, 2014, at Riverledge Health Care. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014, 2 -4 and 7- 9 PM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be in the Hermon Cemetery, Hermon, on July 8, 2014 at 3:30 PM, with military honors, Lay Pastoral Assistant Martha Hellmer, officiating. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Cutrie, a son David F. Cutrie, and companion Tina Wells, of Heuvelton, a daughter, Peggy J. Gilbo, and companion Joe Johnson of Heuvelton, a sister, Mary Ann and husband Ray Gemmill, Ogdensburg, grandchildren, Jaden Hunter Johnson , Jolee Johnson, Felicity Wells, Jedidiah Wells, Jazmyn Wells, Xavior Wells, Baryden Joshua David Mason, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Cutrie and a sister, Jane Cutrie. David was born Ogdensburg the son of Francis and Fern Towne Cutrie. He graduated from Heuvelton Central School  in 1975 and he was in the US Army from 1984 – 1987. David married Bonnie Peterson on April 17, 1997 in Mobile, Alabama. He was a corrections officer at Riverview Correctional Facility. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. David is survived by his wife, Aneita and their 5 month old daughter Annabella, his parents, William and Cheryl Ellis, Hermon, stepson, Dustin Maloy, stepdaughters Jessica Maloy, and Amanda Maloy, sister, Tammy (William) Tanguay of Valuntown, Conn., sister, Deborah (Tom) Woodruff, Tucson, Az., grandmother, Nora Gray, step grandchildren, Johnnie-Lynn Maloy and Hunter Knapton, and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by a brother, William Jr. in 1995, grandparents, George and Doris Ellis and Jared Gray. David was born on October 9, 1969 in Westerly, RI, the son of William and Cheryl Ellis. He was a chef at Mullin’s Restaurant in Gouverneur where they describe him as the heartbeat of the restaurant. He loved spending time with his family and precious daughter, Annabella, who was the apple of his eye. He also spent years camping, canoeing, and kayaking in the Adirondacks.

Demetrius Alexander Wolter, May 14, 2010, Morristown NY, passed away at 2 years 9 months on February 17, 2013. He belonged to a loving family which consisted of his mother Arielle, his baby sister Alexis, and his grandfather Merle. Demetrius was a very strong child that battled a severe case of encephalitis when he was only two weeks old. During his time with us he enjoyed being close to the ones he loved and his best friend Scout. His family will miss him deeply and feels blessed for the time they were given with their little angel. David A. Clark, 68, of Canton, died, February 18, 2013, at his home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2 PM; at the Hermon United Methodist Church, Reverend Thomas Jones officiating. David is survived by his wife, Anne E. Clark, daughter, Liza G. Clark, Canton, son, Joshua W. Clark, Japan, father and mother in-law, Michael and Betty Carr Marino, Canton, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Gene Clark, a sister, Pat Druri and Edwin Peterson. Born on February 7, 1945 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Norman and Jacquelyn Fick Clark, he attended Bemidji State University, Minnesota, and graduated with a bachelors’ degree in Applied Psychology. He married Anne Marino on March 24, 1981 in Watertown; SD. David was a Lay Pastor for the Seven Steeples United Methodist Churches (Degrasse United Methodist Church, Hermon United Methodist Church and Russell United Methodist Church). He was a member of the Madison Musician Association. He loved to help and mentor troubled teenagers through his work as a substitute teacher at St. Lawrence Central School. David’s life’s passion was being on stage, singing, playing the guitar and preaching the Word of God. He took the time to reach out and touch the people he encountered in his daily life. Delima M. Moore, 76 of Fine, died, January 18, 2013, at her home. There will be no services. Delima is survived by her husband, Dean K., sons Carl and wife Barbara Provost, Newton Falls, Jeffery and his wife Roberta Provost, Newton Falls, a daughter, Lorrie and husband Sam Antwine, Fine, stepdaughters, Sheila Moore, Watertown, Kristy Clay, Watertown, a sister, Margaret Moran, Schenectady, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 4 step grand children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John and Wilfred Grenier. Delima was born on October 22, 1936 in Tupper Lake, the daughter of John and Mary Derosier Grenier. She married Dean K. Moore on August 7, 1990 in Harrisville. She was a laborer for DeMarco Construction Co. out of Rochester. Delima loved making puzzles, cooking and watching the cooking channels. Donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or the Potsdam Humane Society.
