Donald G. Alguire, 84, of DeKalb Junction, died, May 5, 2012, at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 8th, 1 – 3 and 5 -7 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be May 9th, 1:00 PM, at the United Church of Richville, Pastor Karen Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville. Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara E., sons, William D. Alguire, DeKalb Junction, Brent J. (Erin) Alguire, Canton, a daughter Sherry J. (John) Burke of Harrisville, a brother, Kenneth (Lois) Alguire, DeKalb Junction, grandchildren, Emily (Derek) LaPoint, Russell, Ryan Hamilton (fiancé Ellie Zieser), Chatfield, MN, great granddaughter, Peyton LaPoint, Russell, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Harold, Maurice, Clarence and Lyle Alguire, sisters, Hazel LaRue, Helen Conger, Joyce Weaver and Mary Lou Alguire. He was born April 16, 1928 in the Town of DeKalb, the son of Harry and Annabelle Thompson Alguire. He married Barbara E. Jennings, October 26, 1947 at the Jennings family home with the Reverend E.J.W. Burston officiating. He and his wife bought the Jennings Family Farm which they farmed until he retired and then he was a custodian at Hermon DeKalb Central School. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and playing with his great granddaughter. He was a good person and loved being outdoors. Contributions can be made to the United Church of Richville and the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department.

Donald L. Garvey, 75, DeKalb Junction, died, April 20th, 2012, at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Calling hours will be Monday, April 23rd, 12 -2 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM, Lay Speaker John Frary officiating, burial will be in Hermon Cemetery. Donald is survived by his daughters, Sharon and Jim Garvey-Mosher, Jacksonville, NC, Kimberly and John Beebe, Hammond, grandchildren, LCPL Donald L. Cunningham, Jacksonville, NC, Roxanne Cunningham, Black River, Vaughn and Craig Kerr, Gouverneur, Desiree’ Wilmarth, Alexandria Bay, Benjamin Beebe, Hammond, Alice Beebe, Hammond, Jessica and Paul Pagan, Hammond, great grandchildren, Anthony Allen, Marissa Lynn Kerr, Alexis Nichole Kerr and Marri Jane Merrihew. Donald was born February 22, 1937, in Gouverneur, the son of Harold and Vaughn A. Johnson Garvey. He was in the Army from 1954 – 1962 and earned the National Defense Service Medal. He married Margaret Beebe on October 19, 1997 in DeKalb Junction, Justice of Peace, Mary Cook officiating. Donald was a member of AMVETS Post 11, DeKalb Junction. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing, watching television, and listening to country music.

David E. Koch, 75, formally of DeKalb, died, October 10, 2011, at Maplewood Campus, Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, in trusted with arrangements. Calling hours will be Saturday, October 15th, 9 – 11 am, the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, Reverend William Hart officiating, burial will be in Union Cemetery. David is survived by, his wife, Roxann, DeKalb, his mother Mae Trexler, Easton, PA, sons, Gary (Debra) Koch, Nazareth, PA, Terry Koch, Bethlehem, PA, a daughter, Bonnie (Doug) Reed, DeKalb, a brother James Koch, KY, a sister, Linda Trexler, Easton, PA, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews. David was born September 20, 1936 in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, PA, the son of Harold and Mae Lieberman Koch. He married Roxann Rentzheimer in Hecktown, PA, May 28, 1955. He was a security guard at the Tide Water Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach, SC, before his retirement. David was a member of the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church, life member of the Hecktown Volunteer Fire Company, Chaplin at the Elks Lodge in Calabash, NC. He enjoyed playing cards, making boxes for flowers; Sunday drives and was a NASCAR fan. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Support Group and Activities Department at Maplewood Campus, 205 State St. Rd., Canton, New York, 13617.
