Patsy “Geraline” Fisk

Patsy “Geraline” Fisk, 87, of Canton, and formerly of Hermon, died on September 12, 2024, at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Services will be private; burial will be in Hermon Cemetery. Geraline is survived by her sons, Duane and his wife Kelli Fisk of Clayton, SC, Kevin and Beverly Fisk of Garner, NC, a sister Connie King of Knight, SC, grandchildren, Sarah “Annie” Fisk, Jason Fisk, Kristi Dunn, Devan Wall, great grandchildren, Nora Fisk and Emery Fisk, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her, siblings, Paul King, Horace King, Thomas King, Ruby King, and Willa Mae King.  She was born on September 25, 1936 in Woodruff, SC to the late John A. and Cecil Snipes King. In 1956, she married Basil Clark Fisk, he died on January 1, 1982.  She was a culinary specialist at St. Lawrence University, until her retirement.

Prudence J. Bishop, 80, of Norfolk, died on July 1, 2024, at the Canton Potsdam Hospital.  There will a graveside service, Friday, July 12, 10:00 am at the East DeKalb Cemetery, Pastor Martha Helmer officiating. Prudence is survived by her siblings, Harold Bishop Jr. (Junior) of Massena, Regina (Peggy) Thompson, Zelda Sanford of Potsdam, Rodney Bishop of Oneida, Brenda Thompson, and Debra Miller of Canastota, several nieces and nephews, her friends and family of the ARC. She was predeceased by her, siblings, Dwight Bishop, Luther Bishop, Bruce Bishop, Donald Bishop, Valery Bishop-Forbes, Garnet Butler, and Crystal Bishop. She was born on May 4, 1944, in Gouverneur, the daughter of the late, Harold F. and Isabella Jayson Bishop Sr.  Prudy attended the day habilitation services.  She loved joking with staff, drinking coffee, eating, cuddling with her blanket, shopping (feeling the textures), and dogs. She had a great sense of humor with very colorful vocabulary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ARC Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation.

Patricia A. Flight, 80 of DeKalb, died on April 16, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. There will be a graveside service on April 22, 2024 at the Union Cemetery in DeKalb, 2:30 PM, Pastor Martha Helmer officiating. Paricia is survived by her husband, Lawrence Flight, son, Marc and his wife Shannon Flight of Little Chute, Wisconsin, daughters, Diane and her husband Larry Hazelton of Heuvelton, Donna and her husband Francis Anson of DeKalb, Carol and her husband Malcolm Hubbard of Gaffney, South Carolina, Cathy and her husband Robert Reed of Baltimore, Maryland, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Ellis, and her brother Henry Ernestine.  She was born on January 26, 1944 to the late Floyd and Mae Boshane Benway.  Pat married Lawrence Flight on June 3, 1961 at the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church. Pat worked at Saint Lawrence University and Hermon DeKalb Central School as a cook, prior to that she was a cashier at Ames. She was a former member of the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church.  She loved to do crossword puzzles, crochet, camp, cook and her indoor garden.   Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society

Perry T. Masters, 52, of Ogdensburg, died on February 27, 2023.  Services are private. A graveside service with military honors will be May 9, 2024 at the Old DeKalb Cemetery, 10:30 am. Perry is survived by his siblings, Kelly Mandigo of Canton, Linda and her husband Ed Newcombe of Rensselaer Falls, Diane and her husband Tom Pike of Ogdensburg, Brian Masters of Webster, Lyle Masters II of DeKalb, his stepmother Nancy Masters, an Uncle Ken Masters, his good friend Lee Larby, several nieces and nephews. He was born on March 18,1970, in Gouverneur, the son of the late, Lyle Masters and Vicky Morse. Perry graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1989, he then enlisted in the Army.  He was in the active military till 1995, when he then went into the reserves. He worked as a logger for Sanford Inc. in Colton.  He was an active member of the VFW Post 2936 in Ogdensburg, the A.D. Charbonneau Council 258 Knights of Columbus in Ogdensburg, AMVETS Post 19 in Ogdensburg and AMVETS Post 1997 in Heuvelton.  Perry loved to collect Elvis’s memorabilia and impersonate Elvis, talking to people on the phone, drawing and singing karaoke.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association or the Diabetes Association.

Paul R. Reed, 92, of Richville, died, December 23, 2021, at his home. A graveside service will be December 29, 2021, 11:00 am at Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville, Pastor David Hart officiating.  Paul is survived by his sons Dorwin and wife Pamela Gore of Gouverneur, Richard and his wife Colleen Reed of Gouverneur, Roger and his wife Donna Reed of Canton, daughter, Amy Jo and her husband Michael Weil of Canton,  grandchildren, Jamie Salvatore and her companion Corey Clarke, Alexander and his companion, Jacklynne Durham, T.J. Gore and his companion Paige Bango, Bethany Gore, Christopher Reed, Jason Reed, Travis and his wife Leslie Reed, Ashley and her husband Curtis Constance, and Connor Reed, great grandchildren, Henry Gore, Jordan Reed, Taya Constance, Lia Constance and Holden DeShane. He was predeceased by a brother Ross Reed. Paul was born on October 30,1929, in Syracuse, the son of the late Arlie F. and Marjorie J. Gray Reed. He married Reta Durant on February 6, 1961, she predeceased him on January 13, 2015.  Paul retired in 1987 as the supervisor for NY State DOT, Hailesboro, after his retirement he was the clerk of the works for Marble City Affordable Housing, Gouverneur. Paul owned and operated Reed’s Market in Richville, from 1946 – 1961.  Paul was the former President and board member of the Maple Grove Cemetery, was a past chief and member of the Richville Fire Department and was a member of the Spruce Mountain Hunting Club.  He loved to hunt and fish. Paul A. Trimm, 69, of Hermon, died on November 13, 2020, at his home.  There will be calling hours, Monday, November 16, 10 am – 12:45 PM, social distancing and face masks are required. A private family service will follow and then the burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Paul is survived by his wife, Marsha, a son, Allen Trimm of DeKalb Junction, daughters, Krista and her husband Chris Carrow of Hermon, Kamie Trimm and her fiancé, Chris Jenkins of Hermon, Nikki Trimm and her fiancé, Bryce Gibson of Hermon, a sister, Sandra St. Dennis of Glen Falls, grandchildren, Chati and her husband Craig Brunet, Christopher Carrow, Connor Carrow, Cooper Carrow, Piper Gravelle, Temperance Gravelle, Paul Gibson, Tiffany Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, Adalynn Gibson, great grandchildren, Craig Brunet and Amelia Brunet. He was predeceased by his siblings, James Trimm Sr., Richard Trimm, Archie Trimm, Phyllis White, Beverly White, Elaine Payne, and Donna White. He was born on September 3, 1951 in Potsdam, to the late, Archie and Eleanor Rust Trimm Sr. He married Marsha Garow on August 30, 1980 at the United Methodist Church in Norwood. Paul was a laborer for the St. Lawrence County Highway Department until his retirement in 2009.  He was a board member and firefighter for the Hermon Volunteer Fire Department and was a past firefighter for the Potsdam and Norwood Volunteer Fire Departments. Paul loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed driving the fire truck, hunting, fishing, camping and being an avid Yankee Fan and a NASCAR enthusiast.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hermon Volunteer Fire Dept.

Pauline G. Leonard, 84, of Pyrites, died on September 1, 2017, at her son’s home. There will be no services. She is survived by her sons, Cornelius B. Leonard and his partner Michelle Lalone of Hermon, Calvin (Spook) C. Leonard Jr. and his wife Shayne (Lalone) of Pyrites, siblings, Wayne and his wife Patty Brabaw of Potsdam, Sharon (Ditty) Allen of Pyrites, Marlene and her husband Arnold Cota of Woodruff, SC, grandsons, Michael Leonard and companion Heather Briggs, Anthony Leonard, Christopher Leonard, great grandson Oscar Leonard, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, by siblings, Ceylon (Bum) Brabaw, Eunice (Puff) Corbine, Joan Brown, and Bonnie Brabaw. Pauline was born on February 7, 1933 in the Town of Canton, the daughter of the late Ceylon and Jesse Martin Brabaw, she graduated from Canton High School in 1951. She married Calvin Leonard Sr. at the Trinity Church in Potsdam, on November 24, 1954, he predeceased her on January 13, 2011. She was the food service manager at St. Lawrence University until her retirement in 1985. Pauline was a member of the Grief Support Group in Canton and the Canton Senior Citizen Club. She loved being with her family and friends, also living in Florida in the winters. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, traveling and going to garage sales. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.

Paul H. Simmons, 63, of DeKalb, died on August 28, 2013, at his home. Calling hours will be at the funeral home, Saturday, August 31, 2013, 1 -4 PM. There will be a celebration of Paul’s life at his home, 240 Hitchcock Road, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 1:00 PM. Paul is survived by his wife, Christine E., Eric and wife Amanda Simmons of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughters, Brenda Simmons and fiancé, Bryan Kingsley of DeKalb, Ellen and husband David Tyo, of Depeyster, brothers, Glen Simmons of Depeyster, Earl and his wife Helen Simmons of Macomb, sisters, Bonnie Turnbull of Depeyster, Marsha and her husband Mike Streeter of Canton, grandchildren, Jakob Simmons, Justin Simmons, Makaela Simmons, Danielle Moyer, Nathan Moyer, Abigail Kingsley, Austin Kingsley, Cassidy Tyo, Ethan Tyo, Molly Tyo, several nieces and nephews. He was born in Ogdensburg, on May 11, 1950 the son of Leon “Joe” and Rita Beamish Simmons. Paul graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1968. He married Christine E. Kirby on July 12, 1969 at the Presbyterian Stone Church. He owned and operated Simmons Well Drilling in DeKalb since 1989; he was previously a laborer at Kirby Construction in Ogdensburg and was a miner at St. Joe’s Zinc Mines in Fowler. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and boxing (Tuesday Fight Night) and was a great neighbor. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Ryan’s Wish Foundation, P.O. Phillip-Gray.gifPhillip Gray, 57, of DeKalb Junction, died March 10, 2011, at his home. Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, is in charge of arrangements. There will be a celebration of his life, Saturday, March 19, 2011, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Emilo D’Argentino, speaker, will conduct the service at 4 p.m.Phillip is survived by his wife, Roxanne M.; his mother, MaryAnne Frisco; brothers Robert and Andy Gray; sister Julie Crotty; brother Chuck Tracy; loving companion Sam; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Leland Gray, and brother, Tim Gray.

He was born October 15, 1953 in Gouverneur, the child of Leland and MaryAnne Elsey Gray.

He married Roxanne Aldrich, January 21, 1984 in Hermon. Phillip was a project site representative at SUNY Canton. He also owned and operated Gray’s Taekwondo in DeKalb Junction for several years. He attained his master certification in Korean Taekwondo under Grand Master Sam Kim.

He loved hiking with Chuck and Sam, fishing, gardening, woodworking and being outdoors.

He was a true family man, a great teacher and a good and honest person.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the rescue squad or charity of one’s choice.
