Laurel E. Van Ornum
Laurel Van Ornum, 60, of Ogdensburg, died on August 18, 2019. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 29, 1- 2 PM, at the funeral home, a graveside service to follow at Wayside Cemetery, Richville, Certified Lay Servant Frank Carter officiating. Laurel is survived by her mother, Joyce Donnelly of Tupper Lake, her brother, Floyd F Donnelly Jr. of Massena, sisters, Eliza and her husband Dale Fasset of Michigan, Lisa and her husband William Longshore of Morley, April and her husband Wayne Storm of Massena, Gertrude and her husband Richard Kentile of Tupper Lake, Shannon Donnelly of Canton, several nieces, nephews, as well as several loving friends and caregivers at United Helpers. She was predeceased by her father, Lloyd Van Ornum Sr. and her brother Lloyd Van Ornum Jr. Laurel was born on May 14, 1959, in the Town of Canton, the daughter of Lloyd and Joyce Barden Van Ornum. She resided at the Centennial Manor IRA. She attended United Helpers Day Habilitation Program. Laurel was a kind, loving person. Enjoyed puzzles, cards, magazines, adventure, traveling, coffee with her friends, barbeques, loved animals and children. Music of almost all kinds. She was hilarious and loved to play pranks. Loved having girl’s night and spa days. She was the best hype person around and could make you feel great just for walking into a room. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Wounded Warriors Project.
