Theresa M. Buckley, 81, of South Colton, died on March 4, 2016 at her home. There will be a Celebration of Theresa’s Life on Sunday, March 13th at 1 P.M. at the Racquette Valley Fish and Game Club, Cold Brook Drive, South Colton, New York. She is survived by her sons, Earl and wife Marlene Clark of Ogdensburg, Randy Clark of Potsdam, Tracy Clark and Julie Yandoh of Brasher, Paul Clark of South Colton, daughters, Lucy and her husband Charles Lucas-Schloer of South Colton, Patricia Clark and Theodore Lovejoy of Ogdensburg, Christina and her husband Jeff Ward of Brasher Center, a sister Elizabeth Kerr of Norfolk, 14 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 21 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Danny Clark in 1963, a brother Hollis Mosher and a sister Joyce Mosher. She was born on August 29, 1934, in Potsdam, the daughter of Earl B. and Tressia Scovil Mosher. She married Louis Clark at her parent’s home in Colton, 1952, he predeceased her in 1962, she then married Maurice Buckley, he predeceased her, and her fiancée Robert Bacon predeceased her in 1995. Theresa was a self-employed home health care provider, a member of the Potsdam VFW, American Legion in Potsdam, and the Racquette Valley Fish and Game Club. She loved large family gatherings, camping with family, being outdoors, gardening and feeding the birds. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Colton Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Everett M. Risley, 90, formerly of DeKalb Junction and currently in Canastota, died Tuesday evening February 2, 2016, in Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton. Born in De Kalb Junction, on January 17, 1926, he was the son of Herbert N. and Laura Belle Stone Risley. A resident of this area for the past twenty-seven years, Everett was educated in De Kalb Junction schools. Prior to his retirement, Everett was employed with Fremac Marine Sales in Lakeport, previously with the former N. G. Deppoliti and Sons, Inc. of Canastota and owned and operated an automotive garage and dairy farm in De Kalb Junction. He loved playing guitar and working with anything mechanical and was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are his three sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Kathy Risley of Canastota, Rick and Lisa Risley of Oneida and Steven and Laney Risley of St. Augustine, Florida; fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sons, Charles in 1987, Greg in 2011, Keith at birth, his daughter, Lisa at birth and two brothers, Obed and Gaylord Risley. Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday at the Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, De Kalb Junction, Pastor Martha Helmer officiating. Interment will be made in Union Cemetery, De Kalb Junction. Friends may call at the funeral home, 11 AM to 1 PM, Saturday, prior to the funeral service. George Castor, 80, of DeKalb Junction, died on January 30, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his wife, three daughters and granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris, daughters, Suzann and her husband David Conklin, DeKalb, Melissa Miller and Terry Allen of Madrid, Anna Davis of Potsdam, brothers, Perl Castor and Karen Gilson of Black River, Lyle and his wife Carole Castor, Heuvelton, a sister, Bonnie Cook of Grand Isle, Florida, grandchildren, Amy (Miller) and her husband Grant Tolbert, Jason and his wife Mary Tenberg, George Tenberg, great grandchildren, Tanner Tenberg, Jayden Tenberg, Hailey Tenberg, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Kermit Castor. George was born on February 26, 1935, in Rodman, New York, the son of Howard and Verna Dennis Castor. He married Doris Youngs on April 12, 1955 at the Macomb Wesleyan Methodist Church Parsonage. George was a heavy equipment mechanic for 29 years for Youngs Heavy Equipment in Palmetto, FL, prior to that he was a self-employed logger and worked construction for Paul Stiles. He was a member of Moose Lodge 814. He loved to fish, go to yard sales and the casino, and especially buying and restoring bicycles. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Harris, a son, Dennis Harris, Jr. of Plattsburgh, a daughter, Melanie and her husband Jeremy Chaney of Van Alstyne, Texas, a daughter in law, Shirley Harris of Canton, two brothers, Charles and his wife Naomi Conto of Lucas, Iowa, John and his wife Janet Conto of Dover Plains, New York, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her son Richard Harris, her brothers, George Condon, Richard Condon, Patrick Condon, Herbert Conto, James Conto, sisters, Beverly Pelkey and Susan Wayne. Joan was born on May 29, 1944, in Malone, New York, the daughter of Charles and Hattie McFaul Conto. She married Dennis Harris in Dover Plains on November 16, 1965. She was a therapy aide for NYSARC, Canton, prior to that she was a maid and laundry attendant at Best Western, Canton and a therapy aide at the Wassaic Development Center, Wassaic. She loved to crochet, knit, play computer games and do crafts. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Lottie Jr. and his companion Diane Monroe of Massena, Russell and Dorcas “Sam” Lottie of DeKalb Junction, brothers, Frank Lucas of DeKalb, Francis Lucas of Syracuse, Gerald and his wife Priscilla Lucas of Canton, James Lucas of Morristown, Robert Lucas of South Carolina, Marvin and his wife Penny Lucas of DeKalb, sisters, Susan and her husband Gene “ Knook” Flannigan of Pierrepont, Lucy Harris of DeKalb Junction, Tina and Francis Hewlett of Canton, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence Lucas, Randy Lucas and a sister, Geraldine Gilson.  Norma was born on October 8, 1945, in Ogdensburg, New York, the daughter of Robert and Mary Bancor Lucas. She married Robert E. Lottie in April 1962 at the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church. She was a self-employed house cleaner and a past member of the Christ Church of Love. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Laura H. Cushing, 83, formerly of Canton, died on December 12, 2015 at Elderwood at Wheatfield in Niagara Falls. On December 16th at the Fairview Cemetery Chapel, Canton, there will be a calling hour at 12 PM followed by the funeral service at 1 PM, Reverend David Weisserd officiating. She is survived by her son Karl and his wife Leslie Cushing of Ortonville, Michigan, daugthers, Karen Schneebeli of  Watertown, New York,  Jean and her husband Joseph Ott of Depew, New York a sister, Mary Drexler of Marcellus, New York,  grandchildren, Dr. and Mrs. Melissa and her husband Justin Macy, Peter Schneebeli, Heidi and her husband Evan Himes, Lindsay Cushing, Ashley Cushing, Thomas Cushing, great grandchildren, Scott and Maya, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Guy Cushing, and a brother, William Hutchinson. Laura was born on March 3, 1932, in Rochester, New York, the daughter of the William and Celia Deuel Hutchinson. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1966 with a nursing degree. Laura married Gerald Cushing in Rochester in 1955, he predeceased her in 1989. She worked as a public health nurse for the City of Detroit, in New York and Massachusetts. Contributions can be made to the charity of ones choice.

Lee F. Richards, 73, died at his home on November 5, 2015 while surrounded by his loving family.  A memorial mass will be on Tuesday, November 10th, 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Canton. He is survived by his wife Deborah “Debbie”, his mother, Lorraine Richards of Norfolk, daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Matthew Denner of Heuvelton, brothers, John and his wife Gerry Richards of Norfolk, Jeffery Richards of Norfolk, Robert and his wife Nancy Richards of Norfolk, grandchildren, Matthew Denner Jr., Gregory Denner, Quinton Denner and Landan Denner, several nieces and nephews. Lee was born on June 28, 1942, in Norfolk, New York, the son of the Vernon and Ione Lorraine Butler Richards. He graduated from Norwood Norfolk Central School and married Deborah Johnson on September 20, 2008 at the Hermon Methodist Church. He worked as a driver for Enterprise in Potsdam, before that he was a manager at the Agway Fertilizer and Feed in Canton and Agway in DeKalb Junction. He was a member of the Sons of AM VETS Post 11 in DeKalb Junction, the Waddington Golf League and the Old Timers Softball League. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing softball, most of all he loved attending all of his grandchildren’s events. Lee was outgoing and always had a joke to tell. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy and her husband Gerald Hendrick of Brockport, New York, Caryn and her husband Michael Chilas of Rochester, Cherie and her husband Daniel Zira of Gouverneur, sons, Michael McRobbie of Hermon, Donald and his wife Cheryl McRobbie of, Waterloo, David McRobbie of DeKalb Junction, a brother, John Nicol of Hammond, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Isla Jean was born on February 5, 1936, in Ogdensburg, New York, the daughter of the late Earl and Gwendolyn Lowery Nicol. She graduated from Hammond Central School in 1954, she married Lowell McRobbie, he predeceased her on December 26, 2009. She was a van attendant for NYSARC and prior to that was a home health aide for St. Lawrence County Public Health for 13 years. She enjoyed reading. Contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

She is survived by her husband, John M. Fuller, sons John M. and his wife Carol Fuller of Lutz, Florida, Timothy F. and his wife Kathy Fuller of Pyrites, Paul D. Fuller of Lisbon, a daughter Joy I. and her husband Richard Prince of San Antonio, Texas, a sisters, Beatrice Charland of Malone, Pearl and her husband John Woodin of Poughkeepsie, Jeanne Zemko of Fort Myers, Florida, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Violet Perrault, Gilda Streeter, Yvonne Harrington, Marie Derosia and Margaret Gregory. Almeda was born on on August 4, 1932 in Churabusco, New York, the daughter of the late Francis and Viola Spoor Derosia. She graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury, Connecticut as a licensed practical  nurse. She married John M. Fuller, on August 10, 1950 in Ellenburg Corners, New York. Almeda was a licensed practical nurse in New Milford, Connecticut until her retirement in 1993 and was a member of St. Henry’s Church, DeKalb Junction. Bette M. Simmons, 88, died on August 24, 2015, at Maplewood Campus, Canton. She is survived by her daughters, Judy McEathron of Lisbon, Peggy Whiteford of Rochester, Dale Simmons and her husband Kevin Emler of Rochester, Gina and her husband David Nourse of Cortland, adopted son, Ross Kostin of Rensselaer Falls, a sister, Helen and her husband Don Houck of Canastota, a brother in law, Nelson Austin of Hermon, grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Don Wright, Jennie and her husband Will Harper, Michelle and her husband Matt Kraft, John Nourse, Bill and his wife Leesha Emler, great grandchildren, Zachary Wright, Calleigh Harper, Haley Kraft, Benjamin Kraft, Jacob Emler, Madison Emler, Ryan Emler, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Jerry, brothers, Stanley and his wife Alice Childs, Merlin and his wife Jean Childs, sisters, Minnie and her husband Al Pike, Laura Austin, a granddaughter Cheryl Simmons, and a great granddaughter, Morgan Kraft. Bette was born on May 1, 1927 in Kendrew, New York, the daughter of the late Ralph and Beatrice Stone Childs. She attended the country school in Kendrew and graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1944. She married Hudson Simmons, October 10, 1945, at the Methodist Parsonage in Rensselaer Falls, he predeceased her on April 3, 2004. She was nurse’s aide at Kinney Nursing Home in Gouverneur for 15 years and prior to that she was a cleaning lady at the Gillette Nursing Home in DeKalb Junction. Bette was a member of the Kendrew Methodist Church and the Kendrew Grange Ladies Aid. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making quilts. She made over 400 quilts during her lifetime for family and friends. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many other children who called her grandma and thought of her as if she was their grandmother.
