Marian L. Kingrey, 84, formerly of Hermon, died on December 10, 2016, at Maplewood Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. There will be a graveside service, Tuesday, December 13th, 2:30 PM at the Hermon Cemetery, her son Jasper Kingrey will be the officiant. She is survived by her sons, Jasper Kingrey of Hermon, Glenn Kingrey of Hermon, John and his wife Lori Kingrey of Hermon, grandchildren, Crystal and her husband Sean Sterling, John Kingrey and his companion Vicky Brown, Thomas Kingrey, Jacob Kingrey and his companion Amber Weller, great grandchildren, Alex, Micah, Norah, Jace and Ezra, several nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Jake Gottschald, Harless Gottschald, Curtis Gottschald and Edna Rees predeceased her. Marian was born on August 2, 1932 in Louise, Texas, the daughter of the late Adolph and Laura Tolleson Gottschald. She was previously employed by ARC in Hermon. She loved telling others stories about her family, reading, writing letters, animals, and working at the hobby farm. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to One Mind Institute, P.O. Thomas E. Baxter, 71, of DeKalb Junction died on October 11, 2016, at his home. Calling hours will be 1 – 3 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2016, the funeral service will be at 3 PM, at the funeral home, Pastor Martha Helmer officiating. Burial will follow in Hermon Cemetery. He is survived by his son, Michael and his wife Elizabeth “Liz” Baxter of Pennellville, sisters, Inez Snow of Hermon, Kathryn Huvinen of Washington, Susan Allen of DeKalb, a grandson, Brett Tayler of Waddington, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Richard Baxter and Neadom Baxter. Tom was born on March 12, 1945 in Hermon, the son of the late William and Lucille Hickok Baxter. On May 15, 1965 he married Faye E. Perrin, she died on February 15, 1997. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Hermon. Tom enjoyed fairs. Tractor pull contests, making puzzles and always helped by giving people rides. Brothers, 74, of DeKalb Junction died on October 5, 2016, at the Canton Potsdam Hospital.  Calling hours will be 5 – 8 PM, Monday, October 10, 2016, the funeral service will be at 3 PM, October 11th, at the funeral home, Licensed Minister Bob Smith officiating.  A reception will follow the funeral service at the DeKalb Junction Volunteer Fire Department.  He is survived by his wife, Georgia, sons, Wade and his wife Christina Brothers of Seneca Falls, Dennis and his wife Nina Brothers of Kansas City, Kansas, a daughter, Amy and her husband Robert Smith of Hermon, brothers, Nelson and his wife Judy Brothers of Saint Petersburg, FL, Rodney and his wife Mary Brothers of Virginia, a sister, Kathy and her husband Wayne Becraft of Florida, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Richard Brothers, Ed Brothers, Dennis Brothers, George Brothers, Donald Brothers, Joan Kennedy, Nancy Kinney, and Judy Nolfi. Hubert was born on April 2, 1942 in Norfolk, the son of the late Nelson and Dorcas Warner Brothers. He graduated from Potsdam Central School in 1962, and TCI in Connecticut,  On March 26, 1966 he married Georgia Moulton at the United Methodist Church in Madrid.   He owned and operated a dairy farm in DeKalb, he was a truck driver for the Town of Madrid Highway Department, he was a diesel mechanic and did mechanic work for everyone. Hubert was a member of the Richville Home Fellowship Church, Kendrew Grange 891, National Grange and a board member for the Soil and Water District. He enjoyed tinkering, fixing things, being a mechanic and collecting John Deere memorabilia. She is survived by her sons, Edward and his wife Dawn Slayko of DeKalb, Paul and his wife Sandy Slayko of Hermon, Kevin and his wife Angelica Baker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Eric and his wife Jessica Baker of Cisco, Texas, daughters, Karen Slayko of Syracuse, Carol and her husband Glenn Beck of Ranger, Texas, sisters, Rachel Miner and Esther Cleveland both of Hermon, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Keith Baker, Douglas Slayko and a grandson, Ryan Slayko. Lila was born on May 13, 1937 in Pierrepont, the daughter of the late Edward and Mayfred Stone Fifield. She was a nurses’ aide at Western Manor in Ranger, Texas and an aide for many home health care agencies. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Russell. Lila enjoyed playing cards, baking and flower gardening. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Diabetes Foundation.

She was predeceased by siblings, Carlton Allen, Debbie Downing, and Marion Perkins. Marjorie was born on April 3, 1941 in the Town of Antwerp, the daughter of the late Carlton and Phyllis Canfield Allen. She attended Hermon DeKalb Central School. On August 18, 1956 she married Curtis R. Hammond at the Russell United Methodist Church. Marjorie was a great homemaker and loved spending time with her family, knitting, sewing, quilt making, reading and traveling. Shirley was born on July 28, 1944 in Gouverneur, the daughter of the late Arnold and Fern Fields Aldridge. A marriage to David Brown Sr. ended in divorce, she married Lawrence “Larry” Jones on Mary 27, 2000 at the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church. Shirley was a custodian at Hermon DeKalb Central School for 24 years. She was a member of the DeKalb Junction United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family, her camp at Lake Bonaparte, fishing and shopping. Mary was born on October 31, 1951 in the Canton, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Alice Dafoe Delorme Sr. She married James Mussen on October 22, 1990 at 9 PM at the home of Reverends William and Betty Masters. She graduated from Canton Central School in 1969 and worked as a chief clerk for the Department of Social Services for 21 years (was in charge of converting all files from paper to computer), retiring in 2009. Mary was a past member of the Pyrites Ladies Auxiliary and loved to read, play games on her computer and play cards. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine, a son, Aaron Donaldson of Massena, daughters, Leeann Donaldson at home, Susie Thompson of Massena, Amanda Robinson of Massena, Nichole and her husband Antron Faulk of Massena, brothers, Leslie and his wife Linda Donaldson of DeKalb Junction, Larry and Diane Donaldson of Canton, a sister, Leola Fredette of Canton, 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Ellie Lemieux, grandchildren, Ryan Lemieux, and Christian Donaldson. Lee was born on December 31, 1948 in the Town of Canton, the son of the late Leslie and Helen Blair Donaldson. He married Catherine Barney in Massena on December 14, 2002. Marriages to Barbara Blandin and Gail Burcume ended in divorce. Lee was a custodian and van driver for Massena Independent Living Center until 2003. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, and watching western movies. Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur and his wife Deborah Baker of Hermon, Donald and his wife Deborah Baker of Norfolk, Daniel Baker of Hermon, a daughter, Ann Villeneuve of Norwood, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughters, Donna Baker, Diane Hamilton and a sister, Esther Reynolds. Freida was born on September 7, 1918 in the Town of Canton, the daughter of the late William and Maude Come Thompson. She married Burton Baker, March 28, 1942 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Rensselear Falls, he died on March 17, 1988. Frieda worked on the Everett Risley Farm in DeKalb until she and Burton were married. Freida was a member of DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizen Club, DeKalb Craft Club, the United Church of Richville, Friendship Club and the Hermon Ladies Aide (West Hermon Methodist Church). He was predeceased by his sons, Scott Davis, John Davis. Morris was born on October 27, 1939 in Colton, the son of the late Erwin and Frances Johnson Davis. He married Joan F. Davis on April 12, 1961 in Niagara Falls. Morris was a truck driver for Alcoa, Massena, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Teamster Union 687, Potsdam, AMVETS Post 11, DeKalb Junction and the Rainbow Brook Hunting Club. He loved cooking, hunting, and fishing.
