Angelina M. Donaldson, 8, of Canton, became one of God’s angels on April 1, 2018. Calling hours will be April 14, 2018 at 12 – 2 PM, the funeral service will follow at 2 PM, at the funeral home, Pastor Martha Helmer officiating. Angelina is survived by her loving parents, Diane Donaldson of Canton, Larry Donaldson of Canton, her grandfather Vernon E. Miller and his companion Lisa LaBrake of Fine, her brother, Larry J. Donaldson of Canton, step brothers, Casey Donaldson and his fiancé Kay Zimmer of Canton, Jonathan Donaldson of Plattsburgh, step sister Brandy Matejcik of Stockholm, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Leslie W. and Helen L. Donaldson, and Beverly Miller. Angelina was born on February 25, 2010, in Ogdensburg, New York. She was a 2nd grade student at Banford Elementary School in Canton. She was a member of the girl scouts. She loved animals, especially her cats Gizmo and Smokey, playing Minecraft, drawing and watching You Tube. Anyone who knew Angelina would tell you she was a loving child with a contagious smile.

Edward J Fischer
Beloved husband, father and son Edward Fischer passed away peacefully at the age of 86 following a short illness on March. 15, 2018. He is survived by his son Steven J Fischer, daughter in law, Pamela Fischer and granddaughter Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J and Minnie Buys Fischer and his wife Virginia Flight Fischer.
Ed lived a life of service to his country and to his community. He was a career military officer, retiring from the Army in 1969 after twenty years of active duty. A decorated veteran, he received the Good Conduct Medal with two knots, the National Defense Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Republic of Vietnam campaign ribbon, and the Meritorious Unit Citation. In 1969, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, which is reserved for members of the armed services who commit acts of heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service. He met his late wife Virginia Fischer while serving at Ft. Drum (then Camp Drum) and after marriage lived in France and Germany before returning to DeKalb Junction. Married for 56 years, Ed and Virginia will be forever remembered for their contributions to DeKalb, most notably the creation of senior citizen housing, the historical museum and chairing the Herman-DeKalb alumni association for decades.
Upon retirement from the army, he served as a Deputy Sheriff for St. Lawrence County for 15 years where he was known for his kindness to all, including people who were processed under his care. His commitment to service didn’t end with retirement and he spent the next 30 years as an active volunteer in his community. Having volunteered for the Radio Emergency Citizens Action Teams (REACT) while in the military he continued providing emergency service in DeKalb as a volunteer fireman. He served as chaplain of the DeKalb Senior Citizens association, holding membership for more than ten years. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, assisting at the nutrition center and advocated on several occasions for its continued service to the community. One of his proudest moments was being recognized as St. Lawrence County’s New York State Senior Citizen’s of the year in 2015. He also enjoyed the fellowship of the church community as a member of the DeKalb Methodist church.
Ed loved fishing, following navy ships on his Ham radio, playing flight simulator video games and keeping up with community affairs. He moved to Washington state in December 2016 to be with his son’s family where he enjoyed sampling the many ethnic foods in the area as well as the local breweries. He recently visited elementary schools, in full uniform, to describe his experiences as a veteran. Ed will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Visiting hours will be from noon-2 pm on Saturday, March 31st, at the Allen-Denesha Funeral Home in Dekalb Junction. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association or the Hermon Rescue Squad.

David E. Kirkpatrick, 71, of Hermon, died on March 20, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. There will be a Celebration of Life on May 5, 2018, 1:00 PM at David’s home, 1912 Cr 21, Hermon . David is survived by his wife, Vicki, sons, David and his wife Pamela Kirkpatrick of Cove City, NC, Justin and his wife Jennifer Kirkpatrick of Hermon, a daughter, Leann Kirkpatrick of Brushton, stepsons, Shawn and his wife Paula Lavare of Brushton, Matthew Cole of Ticonderoga, Darrin Cayea of Syracuse, a brother, Roy Kirkpatrick of Hermon, 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ricky Hendricks. Bud was born on October 1, 1946, in Canton, New York, the son of the late Percy and Ida Cross Kirkpatrick. He married Vicki Wilson in Richville, on September 8, 2007, Reverend Karen Taylor officiating. David owned and operated his family farm. He loved spending time with his grand babies and his dog Puppup. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching deer, four wheeling and drinking. Florence B. Roy, 88, of Hermon, died on March 5, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1 PM, at the Hermon Cemetery, Father Bryan Stitt officiating. Florence is survived by a son Edward “Buzzy” Roy of Hermon, daughters, Jane and her husband Francis Hewlett of Hermon, Vicki Luther and fiancé John Holly of Harrisville,a daughter in-law, Rita Roy of Hermon, numerous grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Gregory Roy, a brother, Joseph Savage, sisters, Margaret Fowler, and Mary Savage. Florence was born on February 18, 1930, in Gouverneur, New York, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary McDonald Savage. She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1948, a marriage to Francis Roy ended in divorce. Florence owned and operated a boarding house under the direction of N.Y. State Dept. Of Mental Health from 1970 -1995, she also was the dining hall supervisor at St. Lawrence University. She enjoyed, cooking, baking and reading. Vincent Pratt, 54, of Ogdensburg, died on February 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was a generous donation to science. He is survived by his wife Cindy Pratt, sons, Michael Pratt of Ogdensburg, Justin and his wife Autumn Katura of Ogdensburg, James Middlemiss of Ogdensburg, a daughter Jennifer Austin of Ogdensburg, a brother, Richard Pratt of Morristown, sisters, Deborah and her husband Ed Stevenson of Lisbon, Jamie Barse and Steve “Rookie” Rookey of Lisbon, Donna “Dale” Pratt and husband Brian of Virginia, Sandra Hames and Dave of North Carolina, grandchildren, Paul Austin, Hayden Fifield, Olivia Austin, Trent Katura, Hailey Pratt, Amya Katura several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother George Pratt. Vincent was born on July 4, 1963, in Ogdensburg, New York, the son of the late George and Christine Bouleris Pratt. He married Cindy Austin, on May 12, 2000 at their home, Judge Fonda officiating. For a time Vincent owned and operated Pratt Taxi in Ogdensburg. Vincent enjoyed, antique picking, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping watching movies and television. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Stewart Dewey, 68, formerly of Plattsburgh, died on February 10, 2018, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Plattsburgh. There will be a graveside service June 9, 2018, 1 PM at Hermon Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Dewey, TN, his sister Eileen and her husband James Farrow of Clarksville, Tennessee, his brother, Dwight “Ike” and his wife Marilyn Dewey of Golden Meadow, Louisiana, several nieces and nephews. Stewart was born on October 19, 1949, in Plattsburgh, New York, the son of Herbert and Eleanor Hamilton Dewey. He graduated from Saranac High School, Saranac Lake, NY. He married Carol Thompson in Morrisonville, NY, she predeceased him on September 9, 2014. He was a lab tech for Ayerst Laboratory in Rouses Point, New York. Stewart enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Myrtle Scholl, 98, formerly of DeKalb, died on January 18, 2018, at Adirondack Tri County NRC. Burial will at Brant Lake Cemetery, at the convenience of her family. She is survived by her son David and his wife Nadine Todriff of Bolton Landing, he daughter, Cathy and her husband Grant Hayes of DeKalb Junction, 10 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, by siblings, Stanley Randlett, Laurence Randlett, Leon Randlett, Herbert Randlett, Ruby Payne, and Esther LaPier. Myrtle was born on March 3, 1919, in Chazy, New York, the daughter of the James and Flora Stiles Randlett. She married Orville Todriff on May 4, 1947 in West Plattsburgh, New York, he predeceased her on December 29, 1964, she then married Adolph Scholl on November 23, 1974 in Brant Lake, New York, and he predeceased her on June, 1993. She was a homemaker, a clerk at SS Kregess in Plattsburgh and also a librarian in West Chazy. Myrtle was the oldest member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Brant Lake, she was also a member of the DeKalb Hermon Senior Citizen Club. She loved knitting, reading, and traveling. She is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife Bonnie Tyo of LaPlata, Maryland, Michael and his wife, Kelly Tyo of DeKalb Junction, David and his wife, Ellen Tyo of Depeyster, daughters, Lynn and her husband Doug Shoulette of Redwood, Cynthia Sperl of Trenton, Tennessee, a sister, Alice Stafford of Lafargeville, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, by siblings, Richard Wood, and Anne Smith. Jean was born on July 25, 1930, in Lorraine, New York, the daughter of the late James and Mildred Moore Wood. She was raised by her grandmother Maude Ann Moore. She attended elementary school in Lorraine, graduated from Adams High School, and received her registered nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown. She married Bernard Tyo on June 5, 1954 at the St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, New York, Father Tobin officiating, he predeceased her on May 23, 2008. Her career started at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh as the night nursing supervisor, she then worked at United Helpers Moongate Nursing Home in Canton, as the night nursing supervisor from 1970 until she retired in 1992. She was a parishioner of St. Henry’s Church and prior to that she was a parishioner and member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Mary’s of Lake Church in Plattsburgh. Jean loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, she was the town Grandma and she enjoyed cooking. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his daughters, Ann and her husband Brian White of Russell, Lorie and her husband David Gladle of Edwards, 6 grandchildren, Patrick Morrill, Amanda Oemcke, Leah White Megan McIntosh, April Gladle, Nicholas Gladle, 4 great grandchildren, Miles Morrill, Madison House, Tyler House and Lakeland Oemcke, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, by his daughter, Kathryn Hamilton, siblings, Harold Alguire, Maurice Alguire, Donald Alguire, Lyle Alguire, Clarence Alguire, MaryLou Alguire, Hazel Larue, Joyce Weaver, Helen Conger, and a great grandson Linden McIntosh V. Ken was born on December 14, 1932 the son of the late Harry and Anna Belle Thompson, Alguire. Kenneth married Lois J. Parish on December 15, 1956 at St. Henry’s Church, with Monsignor Thomas Robillard officiating, Lois died on May 11, 2014. He was a cheese cutter at McAdam Cheese until he retired in 1995. He was a parishioner of St. Raphael’s Church and enjoyed bowling, painting houses and mowing his lawn. Nelson Perrault, 60, formerly of, DeKalb, died on December 29, 2017, at Standifer Place, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Calling hours will be, Friday, January 5, 2018 , 4 – 7 PM, the funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 6th at the funeral home, Lay Minister Frank Carter officiating, burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. He is survived Darlene Webb, his partner of 32 years, brothers, Gary Perrault of Indiana, William Perrault of Rochester, Stanley Perrault of California, a sister in law, Elaine Perrault of Tennessee, a sister Renee Chase of Maryland, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, by a brother Bruce Perrault. Nelson was born on February 22, 1957 in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Clarence and Edna Hughes Perrault. He was a maintenance worker and janitor at La Quinta in Tennessee. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching television.
